Levon thanks for yet another informative post. Unfortunately unless the new TL looks dramatically better in person or in a different model level, then I am done with Acura. Those shots look worse than the press release shot.

IMHO the new TL should have been evolutionary. They really did not have to mess with success.

Good clear pics Levon. The 09 TL looks like ass to me. and not a good ass either... Fat back, bloated front...MAYBE the side looks ok but overall not a worthy successor to my beautiful 04 6 speed. So now we have a crappy looking automatic transmission only car to look forward to for the next 5 years. Hopefully they will come out ith a turbo TSX at some point, I am done with the TL.

I just can't get by the huge grille which appears to be chrome. The less chrome the better, IMHO.

Still waiting to see it in person and in different model levels.

Before this goes too far, let me just clarify that I did not take those pics I just posted--I found them on vtec.net. I found them while laying in bed and posted them with one hand because I was too comfortable/lazy to move the other so I could type. I definitely don't want to take credit for something I didn't do.

I like what I see so far. I'll still wait until I see it in person for final judgment.

Based on those virtually uncamoed pics, the new TL seems to have greater road presence. However, it definitely appears to be more luxury than sport now, which is not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.

Seems to be sized to be more of a direct competitor with the GS, 5 series, etc. If this is true, I wonder if a V8 is in its future...

I can't believe that grill is so big!!! It looks out of place IMO as it doesn't wrap or fit with the rest of the body lines. Shouldn't the grill sort of match up with the headlight contours instead of running clear up to the hood line? This looks like the base FWD model for sure though as the tips aren't quad really.

The headlights look very Camry like and what is up with that grill?

The interior looks nice though and it appears like the aluminum/metal trim is real. I was worried they might cheap out and use the tacky plastic from the TSX.

u know, every time i see a new release like the lexus is, g35, g37, a4, etc. i always like the pics before the car comes out although most ppl go through the whole "i don't like it" but they end up liking it later deal. with the new tl, this is the first time i can remember where i was like wtf??

This 09 just doesn't look like a acura, dont get me wrong, its still going to be a high quality product, and I think it has good styling. I just hope it still has that acura spirit, hopefully the spirit of the legend

Wow, it's ugly. That one pic that Acura released gave it promise. They were smart by not releasing the picture of the rear, that would have given people the wrong first impression. Now that they have some people who've already made their opinions based solely with the rims and the front end, they can now hope to slip that past those who are now blinded by love...lol.

It's almost like a Civic and Accord slamming into each other and creating some kind of fused Civcord or Accvic...

This looks like the SHAWD version.. the trunk seems to have the SHAWD badge at bottom right corner... Also in the front pic looks like the person taking pics was actually returniong from a round of golf and found the car and left his bag and went around the car to take pictures..

It may not be that big, this is a closeup wide angle shot, the lens distortion is very evident, almost fisheye like, need to see better further away shots.

There's not a camera angle in the world that would make that rear end look remotely attractive. Big, small, wide, thin, it's just ugly...but, that's just an opinion...lol.

Seriously though, the only thing going for that TL is that there's going to be a SH-AWD version and it seems like it's going to be pushing 300+ HP, hopefully closer to 350 than 300 but I won't hold my breath...

I probably already posted this, but there is a lot of nissan in the new TL. The hood reminds me of the G35, the chrome window trim and that chrome roof strip remind of nissan.

The general public will still buy it simply because it's got that A on the grill and trunk...so no worries for Acura.

i say...everyone just keep quiet until it actually comes out...this happens all the time. right before a new model comes out, everyone hates. for many reasons. for one, they don't want to accept the fact that the thier 04+ TL is no longer sexy and that it's now antiquated and that the new 09+ TL will ultimately be better. I'm not limiting that to just exterior styling. I'm talking about overall car will be better. I'm just patiently waiting...heh heh
