2009 Acura TL Grill?

So I currently own the '13 RDX, but I want a '09 TL for another car. Do any of you know if the 2012 grill could be installed on the 2009? No offense guys, but the grill... I might just jump for 2012 if not. Thanks

For the '12 grill to work you will have to do a full front conversion.

Why not get the '12 TL instead ?

The '12+ TL also has the 6-speed transmission, and a quieter interior due to better sound deafening.

probably due to price is why he wants a 09.. but you can do a full front end conversion.. which if bought new + paint would cost about 1600

Thanks a lot guys. I don't think 1600 is worth the whole conversion so I'll just look for a '12 TL. Should I stick to Tech Pkg or jump for Advance Pkg? SH-AWD isn't a must but it would be nice. And are there any issues that I should know about for the '12 TL.?

you would have alot more issues with a shawd than a fwd.. just sayin..

advance is not needed.. you really only get blind spot indicator and "cooled" seats

I didn't really care to have the other goodies that pot mentions above but the wheels were a must for me on the 2014. However, the 2012 wheels on the Tech are nice. I was looking at low mile 2012s SH-AWD and they were running $30,000. With the heavy discounts they're giving new ones I went ahead and popped for a new Advance.

I've heard of people on here and a few other Acura forums postulate that AWD has more potential problems which is probably likely, but we can't know that yet because even the 09 TLs are not old enough.

I think I read a post (I can't find it right now) about an Acura mechanic who said that he sees more torque converter problems with the AWD than the FWD.

so i assume all the threads you read with drivetrain have to do with FWD?? cuz from what ive read.. very little FWD drivetrain issues.. many SH-AWD drivetrain issues..

Torque converter.

the list goes on for sh-awd..

rarely you come across mechanical issues with fwd.. the engine and transmission are great for the fwd

Some might disagree but the FWD is also supposed to be a little quicker in a straight line than the AWD (not the 6 speed manual AWD that is much quicker than the automatic FWD and AWD models). If you get snow in your area often 100% get the AWD, I can tell you from experience that the FWD isn't good in snow, it's a heavy car and it shows when you're trying to pull it around with 2 wheels on slick streets.

Yes it is, but I'm not sure what all is involved.

You should only need the rear bumper and tail lights...

Let's clarify.

The FWD is quicker off the line than the AWD, due to the lighter curb weight, no AWD hardware gearing loss, and 2 less wheels/tires to spin up.

However, once up to speed, the AWD will catch up with the FWD very fast.

Once again, the FWD will also enjoy better throttle response than the AWD.

But in the wet, the AWD will simply run away from the FWD.

I live in California, norcal, so no snow, FWD.
I don't know which car I will take on trips so..., Tech Pkg, just in case. AND I'm NOT disabled so Advanced isn't needed...I CAN turn my head.
Looks?, NEEDED...Thats the only reason why I asked if the 2009 grill could be replaced. I want another car for curb appeal..lol yes.stupid right?
************Drumroll**************
I guess its 2012 Acura TL Tech FWD. I'll look around, not really in a hurry to get a second car. Who knows, maybe I'll get a new one?(lets see how cooperative my dealer is...)
