Just wondering, whats the best way to weigh a wheel? My friend said you can't put a 2-piece wheel on a scale to get accurate results....

So I tried it, and the scale read 29lbs....

Everyone else says these weigh like 23-24.....

JJ...
This will be the third set of wheels you've bought and posted about, but haven't mounted... and now they're for sale in teh black market.

No more wheel posts from you until you actually put a set of wheels on your car.

What are you like Richie Rich with the rims man? I ain't hatin' tho, if you can get me some Mayas for a discount, I will paypal you!

What I should do I guess is talk you into buying them, then post how ugly they are to you, and then get them off of you in the black market! LOL! The ones you settle on better be like that man!

The GT-S is a mighty fine wheel. I have seen the glossy black spoked version on my buddies 350Z in person and some anthracite spoked ones on a widebody NSX. I haven't seen any gold ones.

I want to put gunmetal 19x8.5 Volk GT AVs on my 2004 5AT SSM. I was pretty sure the 35mm offset would be good, does that sound correct? I have saved the money and have looked at them for a while this thread has finally convinced me to buy, now I just need the info.

That's what I was gonna get , but I decided to get these ro_ja's instead. It should be fine, but I would check first with the manufacturer www.mackinindustries.com. I think they told me before that it would take some time if I wanted to get gunmetal since it's not as popular as the other wheels. Anyway, here are the pics I took tonight, after I got a speeding ticket Vic at wheel options helped with the fitment. He's da man!

Nice...
Let me be the first to ask what the wheel size and offset is? Finding rims that fit well and clear Brembo's is rare.

I did the unthinkable and got a staggered setup...19 x 8.5 +36 and 19 x 9.5 +44 I believe. I got toyo t1r's 235/35 and 265/35. After minor height adjustments, it actually rides and handles better than stock, hence the speeding ticket. I even have the tein SS's too. Go figure.

I talked to the guys at WheelsDirect.com today and they told me they had gunmetal in the GT AV. They quoted me 3500 for wheels and 235/35 Toyo T1r tires and shipping out the door. I really think that is about the best I can do considering shipping to Hawaii is a pain in the butt. Next I bought an extra set of headlights to have painted to match the wheels.

I just talked to them today and they said it would be another month before i got my set in. I'm pissed I am not giving wheelsdirect.com anymore of my business. They said 90 days, then 2 weeks, then another month, who knows whats next. They wont return phone calls or emails the only way to get in touch with them is through instant messenger. Its just bad customer service. I hope i get them sometime and I will post pictures when and if I ever get them.

If you pay that much you are getting overcharged. I was able to get mine in 19"x8.5" w/ Rays Lugnuts, Kuhmo MX Tires for $3200 shipped. Although they still haven't come in...

19" Rays Lexion Type 203 (Silver/Polished lip) AFAIK, these have a forged barrel/lip and cast center...

The one thing I love is how theres almost no writing engraved on the wheels besides the back of it....Some of those Volk wheels have every bit of information engraved on them

It is not just wheels direct. I have ordered two sets of Volks and have gone through the same thing with both. It seems like once the vendor gets a good chunk of your money they kinda lose intrest.

Very true indeed. I have ordered 3 sets of Volks and 2 out of the 3 times the vendors were slow as hell to ship. However my special order one is the only one, which I knew would take 3 months.
