I think it's because your setup looks so unbelieveable that everyone is afraid to post theres because it won't level up to the way yours looks.

...i'm so afraid i'm gonna have to go with some gold gt-s's if i decide to get some new shoes. haha j/k. but maybe!

Well looks like I'm joining the club!! Picking up some used Silver Volk Sf-Challenges this weekend.

19x8.5 with a 42 offset for my 04 SSM AT

Here is the sale thread https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/sold-fs-19x8-5-volk-sf-challenge-372079/

I will be getting them resurfaced shortly after picking them up, so it will be a few weeks before I get them on. Getting a great deal on the whole package $1100 wheels and tires + $400-$500 for the resurfacing. So $1600 for what will basically be new looking rims with tires with 5k on them

Found a place to fix them for $200 all four. So for $1300 with nearly new tires is still $1500 less than new......

Yeah,

that is an awesome deal.....

People just get nervous buying second hand rims especially when they are curbed..... $200 for all of them is great, but it would make me nervous getting the quality back to OEM Volk standards..

Either way for the $$ you cant go wrong... The seller must have bought them used too thus passing the savings on to you

nice purchase

It wasn't the original tires, these Falken f452 were the second set he said. They are some good looking tires......

He was just selling due to having some hre's on order. Dropping the wheels off Wednesday to the shop....gonna take them 2 days then I'm up and running.

Does anyone know whats on the lip of these sf-challenges? I searched but couldn't find much info. Annodized.....clear coat?

I'm pretty sure the lip is anodized.

You can go to America's Tire to get the hub centric rings. I paid about $10-15 for a set from them before. As long as the ID is 64.1 mm.

Lem,
I've recently been through the "trashed lip" issue on a set of GT-7 series set of Volks. They're a 2 piece wheel (just like my GTs), so for optimum refinishing, they'll need to diasassemble the wheel, strip the annodization (yes, it's silver anno that has been clearcoated), address the curbage, then high polish/re anno, then reassmble

It's a PITA.

When it's done, you'll have to keep after em with aluminum polish...

Hubcentric rings are to reduce vibration if the rims you are buying are not the correct center bore for our cars.. They are just small pieces of plastic that fit inside the back of the rim....

IF your rims are not 64.1 center bore,,,,, then you need them to accomodate the new rims on your ride

Sucks Rev.....

So the final price for my repair work is $75 per wheel. I talked the guy into fixing up a few slight bends in that price. He is took the hub out to do prep removing the anno, fixing the curbage, then re anno. I think $300 is a great price for the repair. I will have them back Monday, then I need to get the tires mounted and all that good stuff.

Anyone have a good recommendation on lug nuts? I don't feel the need to pay $150 for Rays............

Yeah,,,,

That kinda sucks.. I would never use spacers or different lugs just to make rims fit... I also wouldn't use pink lugs to save my life.. but that is just me....

Once i sell my Giovanna's, i am gonna put the RonJons up for sale too, and put some Volks on the desert mist wrapped in my Goodyear Eagle F1's hopefully soon if i can find a decent deal... I wonder if gold rims would look good or not.. hmm

Gold GT-S should look great on your gold TL desper. IMO. They look best on a white WDP TL IMHO.

Don't know on the SF-Challanges but my GT-C's took Ray's special lug nuts only so I had no choice but Ray's. The dealer threw in the lug nuts with the wheels. Locking lugs I had to pay for.

If you can match them up McGard makes good lugs and locks.

Got my Volk Sf-Challenges back from repair. In total after repair they cost me $1350, with Falken fk452's with maybe 5k on them. Think it gives me a sportier look than my old 20's. Ended up getting the hub rings, and annodized black gorilla lugz. Does anyone know where I can order more rivets that connect the hub to the rim? Thinking about getting them black annodized.......what do you think?

Let me know what you think.

Doesn't a lower offset increase the lip size for deep dish wheels? Sorry I'm a lost soul on offsets.

go on google and look up wheel offset...and you'll get a couple results...takes awhile to understand...took me 6 people and maybe an hour of explaining to full understand it

Just thought I'd bump this thread as I had to search to find it, and that's rather annoying. How this thread got moved down past four pages is beyond me.

Oh, and here's some info for you guys...the RE30 is now offered in 19's...don't know what they weigh, but at 16.2 lbs for 18X8, 19X8 is still probably pretty damn light.

Here's your ugly wheels in 18"

Maybe 19" would look better.
