As many times as I have viewed this thread... I might be coming to join you guys. I have been pricing some 19x8.5 TE-37's. Either in Mercury Silver or Gunmetal with a polished lip. If I do make the switch I gota get rid of my Racing Hart's. Maybe I'll check out the black market!

VIP cars have to have no style to begin with....like the Lexus LS or the older Q45s....lol You can't really make a car with style a VIP car...it just doesn't work! Plus, the whole point is to run a super wide NON-TUNER wheel in the back with a DEEP lip

TE37 don't come with a polished lip.

The NOW DISCONTINUED LE37T ((Just like the TE) came with "machined" lip, but it was wasn't polished... and they are no longer in production, good luck finding a set.

Interesting... My dealer called the distributor and said I could get them... Just would take 4 months! Maybe I was misinformed? Can anyone elaborate on this? ACCURATEin?

Found a post on Club Lexus. A guy was selling a set of TE37's. Silver with a polished lip. His post says these are not LE37's. Maybe he paid out the wazu for them?

Discontinued for sure... There are some stocks still floating around.
http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/le37t.htm

He's either using the wrong name, or had the TE lip polished by a machine shop. The LE-37t come with much deeper lips, where all TE's have the same "flush" face. If it has any lip at all, it's an LE37t.

My neighbor has a set of LE37t's on his Z. They're crazy, 19 x 10.5 in the rear and 19 x 9.5 in the front. He was telling me that LE37t with those specs and proper Z offset are selling FOR MORE than the original MSRP (used) because they're so rare.

If you can find a legit set that'll fit... snap em up.

GT-S in Titanium Gunmetal

Finally mounted...

1) Specs. 19 x 8.5 +36 offset, Falken 452s 245/35/19, TPMS sensors banded to barrel, high face center caps. Plenty of clearance for Brembos. Lowered on Tein SS - 13in center wheel to edge of fender. I'm gonna raise the rear another 1/4' in to level out the uneveness (rear is mildly lower). No rubbing yet.

2) TOTALLY, AND I MEAN TOTALLY worth the wait, cost, and harrassment. Could not be happier. We have a final winner.

Really? For the 19's? Man, that's pretty good...same as stock. The only thing I've really seen lighter were the Devotion 1pF's at approx. 19-20 lbs.

I just spent the last few minutes poking around looking at the RE30's like you used to have. Depending on the offset, face, and finish, they don't look too bad...and 16.2 lbs for an 18" wheel is awesome. By the way, since you seem so concerned about weight, have you looked at the "Putting the TL on a Diet" thread?

The weight inside the car is much different then the weight of the wheel/tire. Thats unsprung weight that the car has to move.

Say 10 pounds extra at each wheel=40 pounds. Thats alot of weight added for the wheels/tires. But 40 extra pounds inside the car is NOTHING. Thats like 5 less gallons of gas.

As for the Volk RE 30's I had, they are as light and strong as you can get.
But without a polished lip in mercury silver they didn't do much for me. And the biggest size is 18". They actually looked smaller then my stock 17" grey wheels that don't have a lip.

I now just want to get a wheel that isn't too heavy. So most of the wheels I am considering in 19" are about 25-26#. Except for the Work Varianza which is about 28#. I called 3 dealers and got different weights, which I CAN'T STAND. I want the true weight. I have been told 26#, but Ravspec I believe told me the truth, which is 28.5#. Thats TOO heavy IMO.

Yep... I got a new Nikon d40. I was waiting to get my Type-S spoiler installed and finish the black chrome accessories/custom grille.

It's filthy now, and about to rain, so a quick photoshoot ain't gonna happen today.

We gotta get together for an ebony and ivory shoot.

at the shop...

chill_dog... not sure exactly how much these weight, but 24 lbs or less is pretty close.

Thanks Dan...
Well, I had 3 sets at one point, all 19's... TE37's, GT-Ss, and GT-7s

I sold the TE37s to Actros 2 weeks ago.
I'm keeping the GT-Ss.
and the GT-7s are STILL for sale in the Black Market.

I was really thinking about 245/35/19, BUT R/S is correct about the meat on the sidewall. I think 235/35/19 would look better.

But car looks real nice. I still like R/S white and noble gold GT-S. Looks so sweet. I thought I would NEVER like gold wheels.

Just wondering how the GT-S in chrome silver would look on a silver car. The only other GT-S on this forum is the mercury silver, which is darker.

Kennedy; get some better pics up please. Thanks bro.

With the GT-S rim(barrel) being forged and not the center(cast), is the wheel as strong on bad roads as a 1 piece forged? Basically asking, when a wheel gets damaged(bent), doesn't the lip usually bend. So wouldn't a Volk GT-S be as strong as say the RE 30, just weighs more.

Reason I ask, is that Kennedy said that he suggested I buy forged. That was 1 of the reasons I bought the 18" Volk RE 30. I sold them because I want something with more ZOOM ZOOM look and also a 19" wheel.

I wish I knew what Volk dealer suggests TPMS straps and would make me feel comfortable
about using them. SO MANY people I talked to didn't like or knew NOTHING about the TPMS straps. That WILL make somebody WONDER if the are the WAY TO GO ???
