Smile Is it time to change plugs?

I have an 05 TL auto with 74,000 miles. Lately the car doesn't accelerate as strongly as it used too. Whenever i used to floor it it would rev hard and speed up like a beast. Its still fast but hesitates a little now. Not as sharp. First thing to come to mind is the plugs since there the originals. All maintenance has been done according to the schedule. Oil changes, tranny fluid 3x3, filters etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

It's a good start to troubleshooting the issue. Simply pull them out and take a look at them, you'll know immediately if they need to be changed. It's so easy to take them out, it almost doesn't make sense to start there when figuring out an ignitions system issue.

I seriously doubt it's the plugs, assuming they are OEM iridiums.

Might be the APP sensor (although it usually throws a code).

Might just be worn out from all the "flooring" you've been doing.

if its an auto the transmission could be getting "tired" and just not as efficient at putting the power down as it used to.

Try changing out fluid and switches?

I think plugs is your best bet. they could definitely cause a slight hesitation under heavy load.

Sounds like your engine is ready to explode.

Try doing the transmission algoritym reset and as well try running some fuel cleaner through the system. I've used Redline SC-1 and it's been amazing! Also the gas you use can really affect the car. I've noticed that if I use Shell gas my TL is quite a bit more peppy and responsive versus other gas. Maybe the additive pack they use or the lack of the 10% ethanol may be the cause.

Thanks for all the reply's. Yes i use 93 octane Exxon. I just dropped in some redline fuel system cleaner and ill check the plugs. As for the tranny algorithm reset i don't know how to do that. Some feedback would be helpful so i can try it.
