Taillight L.E.D?
i dont think theres a diy for this, but as the 3G tl gets older I have a feeling more people will run into this issue and eventually someone will post up a diy. I'd probably attempt it if mine ever went out. *knock on wood*
Not a DIY, just FYI
I've done this a few times already and it's really not that hard. The board has a few wires that connect to the LED's... one on each end and then all the others in between are jumped/linked together by metal shims. Since they are linked together, if one goes out, all the ones that are linked to that bad LED, go out too. Most of the time, you can tell which LED is the bad one cause it'll look slightly darker than the others, but not all the time. Either way, to confirm that you have the right one, you'll need a jumper wire/cable. I had the board lit while I jumped each LED till I found the one that was burnt.
When it came time to replacing the LED's, I knocked off a few LED's from the original board and attached them to the new board and that was that! By the way, the LED's are polarized.
I didn't want to make this a DIY (hence the missing details), since I'm not sure that the way I did it, is the best way to get it done. I used a method that was fairly quick and didn't require me to buy any thing extra. I was able to use stuff that I had laying around the house. By the way, I've had my LED's working ever since and it's been close to a year or maybe longer...
