LED taillights for the 2014+ MDX?

Even in the 2016 MDX there are still no LED taillights on it. I miss the LED taillights found on the older MDX. Even though the MDX has LED accenting on the taillights, the brake lights aren't LED. So i was wondering if someone in the community knows if and where I can buy the LED taillights if they even exist. If they do, how do you remove the taillight?

Owners manual has instruction to remove taillight housing. You can go to this site to find the bulb type that will fit the socket. You will need to add on a resistor for turn signals.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/...mdx--/1-739--/

Rear Brake and turn signal bulbs are 7440. If you don't want to solder or crimp on resistors you can get one of these types that do not require resistor. Basically the resistor is built in the wire harness.

Brake and turn signals require their own bulb. Turn signals require some type of resistor so your flasher will allow them to flash. Brake light bulbs do not need the resistor. So you need 2 bulbs with resistor for turn signals, and 2 bulbs with no resistor for the brake lights.

You've got a direct link to a set of brake light bulbs? I tried to find one on the first link you gave me

There are lots of options for brake lights. Just do a search for 7440 bulb. Ebay has a bunch. Get red ones for your applications. The same place sell the resistor less turn signal ones in using different bulbs. Find the one you think you like, that are the brightest.
You can check out Superbright LEDs for brake bulbs too.

Its been over a year since I have purchased them. Always new technology with those bulbs. So I would not know what is good now. Just have to read what the seller says and hope they are telling the truth. I don't see what brake lights you chose. You did not send a link.

Well that one looks pretty bright. Im concerned with the length, but it says it fits MDX, so I would try it. It may be much brighter then the turn signal one. Doesn't hurt to try that combo.

Get these. I installed them in my parent's MDX and they work great.

I was wondering is there a LED stop light, like in the 2013 MDX where they look more actual LED taillights like from the germans but I'd probably have to replace the entire taillight

Nope. There is no way to do that without opening up the taillights and doing something custom. No one makes after market taillights for the MDX either.

+1. Not as bright as the ones from V-Leds, but much cheaper and easier to install.

So there aren't any after market taillights that are fully LED? Guess the next best thing is it just get the bulbs then
