Angry Strange sounds in the engine: O - video

Hello, everyone. For some time I have a problem with strange knocks in the area of the timing - the head from the side of the cockpit. Valves adjusted. I know that the video is difficult to diagnose but maybe someone had a similar problem. It does not look like a pan In Poland, it's hard to diagnose such an engine because it is not very popular. Please help !

check the crank pulley underneath the timing belt area, may have to remove passenger wheel.

sounds like the damper on the pulley is coming apart....soon it will separate

end result will look like this:

The question is whether if the pulley falls apart during the ride, will the timing not shoot?

No. There's a different gear from the crank that the timing belt feeds off. The harmonic damper / crank pulley is only for accessories.

So your biggest risk is losing power to the alternator, PS pump and AC. As well as potentially damaging something from when it self destructs. But it won't be your valves or piston heads at least

and this is assuming it is the crank pulley that is separating that is making the noise.

one needs to check.

Right. Still sounds like valves to me. Then again, when I adjusted my valves on the J32 it still sounded "clicky".

Thanks for the suggestions, of course, check the pulley tomorrow.
It's not valves to exclude them, I was regulating last weekend and they were ok.

The worst thing is that a lot of people have this problem and no one can put up a proper diagon. For me, I still knock on the cold most. With a stethoscope, I detect the upper head from the driver's side.

^we cant diagnose over the internet, we are guessing.

Lift the car and go over it with a fine tooth comb. That's the ONLY way you'll be able to find where the noise is coming from

Have you ever had the timing belt/water pump replaced? Sounds like it could be the timing belt tensioner. If not that then possibly valves or lower end. Good luck

Usually that clicking noise is wear on cam lobes (high pitch tick/tap noise) or fuel injectors (click noise)
