Steering Wheel Buttons Not Working

I have a 2007 tl type s, the steering wheel information, reset/select, cruise control button does not work and the paddle shifter also do no work.
However, all the audio button works on the steering wheel without any issue.
Has anyone else had any issue with the steering wheel or know of a solution?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Does all of the buttons light up at night? Has the steering wheel been opened before and reinstalled?

Back when swapped out my steering wheel, as I was pulling it out, the steering wheel clockspring ribbon cable came undone and spent several minutes trying to put it back together. When I placed it back together, I had to re-center the clockspring, so that when I turn from end to end, it wouldn't rip the wiring off. If yours were opened and the clock spring not centered, maybe it might have pulled the wiring inside and have the same issues you are having?

Now I don't know if this is your issue but it's one area to check out.

Hello!

I know this is the TL and not the RL thread, but i have the exact same issue. Yesterday however I realized that if i turn my steering completely to the left, or close to the extreme left, my cruise control, sel/reset, buttons start working and i can toggle through the dash menus. Since the car was stationary i couldn't check if the paddle shifters were working or not.......any ideas anyone?

I know, I know, I know: old thread and almost certainly need to replace the clock spring but just making 100% sure...2008 5/AT. The only buttons that stopped working are the Select and Scroll buttons on the lower right side. There are no SRS warnings or other indicators. Cruise control buttons and horn work correctly. Radio control buttons on upper left side of wheel are fine, too. HFL is disabled so those buttons don't work for a reason.

Replacing the clock spring doesn't look too bad, but just wondered if there was anything else I could try/inspect before ordering the part and doing the repair?

Thx in advance!

Replaced the clock spring (aka, Cable Reel in the FSM) and got all my steering wheel buttons back. Several YT vids (mostly with Accords) on replacing this or the steering wheel with plenty of info. One mistake I made: I had my car on jack stands because I was trying to find a small leak. When I was ready to do the clock spring replacement, I left it on the stands since I'd seen a video where someone rotated the steering wheel 180 degrees making it easier to disconnect the airbag which would now be accessible from the "top" rather than ducking under it. With the wheels now off-center and the car on jack stands, I didn't get the clock spring and steering wheel properly centered.

Lesson learned: leave the car on the ground with the wheels as perfectly centered as possible before doing this work. Getting the steering wheel centered after my screw up wasn't too bad, but it was totally unnecessary and required me to disconnect the airbag and steering wheel again.
