Power steering high pressure hose is leaking...

Did someone manage to patch it rather than replacing. It is leaking somewhere in upper area close to pump be it crimp fitting or hose itself. Patch maybe with tape? Maybe try to crimp metal fitting more with players? Rate of leaking as is right now need to add from below of minimum to little over max Honda power steering fluid every 5 weeks. When is below minimum pump is noisy.

What kind of tape could I use?

Don't bother trying to patch it. The high pressure side of the p/s system will blow any patch you try right out, even when using things like metal hoseclamps. Ask me how I know...

I generally like Edelman for aftermarket p/s stuff. Worth paying extra for quality.

Wrapped it with "Rescue tape" silicone self fusing. After 4 days it leaked somewhat but much less. Add one more wrap today. Open to leave it slightly leaking, would not fix. Just interior of that rubber sleeve that is around pipe get somewhat wet, nothing dropped from pipe down.

At some point you'll have spent more time patching that pressure line than it would have taken to replace it. Just sayin'

Edit: p/s fluid will eat the rubber on your serp belt. Don't let one problem cause another.

This s what happened past night. Was in left line (red line) other car little in front of me right line (blue line). Doe (green cross) tried to pass road but blue line car was on way and simply froze in my line and looked at my car. I was like 65m/hour. Stepped at brake to maximum and just slightly turn the wheel to left, maybe 5 degree. But it was enough for car to go all square across street with front wheels up at medium area. So far look that didn't brake anything but it was hard hit when i jump medium. At last doe manage to escape. Another deer was at side, another green cross.

Since beginning of year.
1) Car didn't start in January in mid of night in front of bar, had to go with Uber home.
2) When I was in mid of nowhere in February I tough I can park at side of road as someone clean snow from there. Nope snow was over foot deep had to call someone to help pull out car from ditch.
3) Late in February car skidded on snowy road and hit sidewalk edge with rear wheels
4) 2 days after it ball joint cracked and wheel fell of, 27 miles from home.
5) Mid of March car didn't start again in front of bar, figured out it is starter but had to walk home that night.
6) Past Saturday I did drove pickup from project in huge rain on highway. I hit puddle and water hit my exhaust muffler. Because I didn't thigh enough exhaust band clamp and muffler is hold by some wiring that I installed to hold muffler part of exhaust from band clamp to back fall off and I had to stop at highway in huge rain and work at connecting muffler to frame just so much that I can go out of highway. Did so went to local bar for 3 hours and temporary attached muffler to frame better than in photo and fixed that at home next day.

7) This doe situation from yesterday.

I mean I'm that dumbass that cut the pressure line when changing my RDX steering rack because the flare nuts at the end were seized and I didn't have enough leverage in the engine bay to break them free. Thought I could just patch it but noooope. Literally drove an hr home from my buddy's garage with zero power steering and after two more unsuccessful attempts to patch the existing line, I ended up replacing it.

OP, as the guy that already tried to half ass this type of repair, trust me lol

OP, eventually you'll realize, less time / money spent at 'the bar', equals TL will get properly repaired sooner with more time / savings spent at rockauto?
Here's hoping another 'wildlife' encounter does not make for an unfortunate statistic.

Danger is real. In 2022 jumped on side of road to avoid opossum and timing belt broke two weeks from than. I heard noise from timing belt area right after accident.

Power steering hose is leaking even after second wrap of it. So will order new and replace. Will just go at youpull to see what is there. Like to take parts there because if I will brake something I do it there not on my car. Leak is not so big can wait for new part.

At what page of service manual is power steering pressure hose replacement directions if any are there. So far not much directions there. I can go over videos to see what should be done but if any direction in service manual it would be helpful. Under steering on page 1236 not much.

What is that yellow cap for. AI say it is for temporary to prevent dirt come in when installing hose. But cap look smaller in diameter than that hose flare nut.

This is all I could find, good luck.

Power Steering Hose, Line, and Pressure Switch Replacement

Note these items during installation:
^Connect each hose to the corresponding line securely until it contacts the stop on the line. Install the clamp or adjustable clamp at the specified distance from the hose end as shown.
^Check all clamps for deterioration or deformation; replace the clamps with new ones if necessary.
^Add the recommended power steering fluid to the specified level on the reservoir and check for leaks.

FYI don't use autozone Honda/Acura PS fluid, its way to thin and will cause leaks later on. Get the Honda PS fluid online or from a local dealer. You might need 2 bottles esp after changing the hose.
