License plate LEDs connector issue
Hey guys, apologies in advance if this has already been addressed in a previous thread, but I did a search and couldn't find anything similar.
I purchased some LED license plate lights on Amazon (
Anyone else run into this and have a resolution? Is there some kind of connector you can use to make it work, or would splicing be a better option? Any help is appreciated!
I purchased some LED license plate lights on Amazon (
iJDMTOY Super Bright 18-SMD OEM Replacement LED License Plate Light Lamps For Acura MDX RL TL TSX ILX Honda Civic Accord Odyssey, etc : Amazon.com : Automotive
) and tried replacing. The description states that it is a valid plug-and-play replacment for the 3rd gen TLs, among numerous other models. Naturally, the connectors don't match. The OEM connector on my 2008 TL has never been changed. It's a square end with four holes, vs the T10 with only the two connections. I e-mailed the seller and they claim that a T10 socket is stock on the '08 TL, but clearly not seeing as the socket in question has never been replaced since the vehicle was purchased new. Anyone else run into this and have a resolution? Is there some kind of connector you can use to make it work, or would splicing be a better option? Any help is appreciated!

oh.
that's totally normal.
that's just the harness connector. you need to physically remove the bulb itself from the little housing it is in. replace bulb. plug in and fire it up.

^white for sure. blue for license plate lighting is too tacky IMO, white is nice and clean
btw to the OP, almost all honda/acura license plate housings are identical, you dont even need to remove the plug(the one in your pic), just pop off the housing from the clips, simple as that

Yes they are plug and play though it does take a little longer than other cars to install them probably like 15 minutes for a first timer. They are 194 bulbs and are very easy to find online, a bunch of different places you can get them.
