the passenger side axle is pretty hard to get out especially with the car on jacks. I ended up having a shop do it.

^passenger axle goes into an intermediate shaft.

The passenger axle has a "female" end and a "male" end that goes into the hub. It's not like the video.

I had to pry from the bottom to get it out, looks like you bent up the intermediate shaft heat shield trying to pop it out.

The intermediate shaft has a male end that goes into your passenger's side inner CV joint.

I used a cheap craftsman prybar to get mine out. Once it moves some I set the pry bar against the old inner CV joint and hammered on the end of it to get it to slip off.

You really need the angled prybar to be able to get the leverage to get it out.

I'm assuming you've already got the passenger side spindle nut off, lower ball-joint popped and the knuckle removed from the axle.

You should also grease the splines on the intermediate shaft before installing the new axle, every like 3rd spline shouldn't have grease on it though, per the SM so the inner CV joint can breathe.

Your intermediate shaft looks different from mine though, what year is yours?

Here's a pic of my old intermediate shaft and the pry bar I used.

To be honest it looks like the shaft has moved forward inside of the bearing, there was a circlip holding it in on the outboard end of the bearing. I'll bet the other end of it came out of your trans.
