How many have Auto Window Rollup Problem?

My drivers side window comes back down when I use the auto roll up feature.

How many of you have this problem? Just wondering how common it is in TLs as I've seen it in other cars.

Is there a way to quickly recalibrate the motion of the window or is a part needed?

Thanks

It happens often. It's a fuse issue. But, you can self-reset the window switch.

1. Roll window down by keeping your finger fully depressed on the switch. Keep your finger fully depressed on the switch for 2 full seconds after the window is completely down.

2. Repeat above when rolling the window up. Hold window switch in the fully-up position for 2-seconds after it's fully closed.

Problem should be solved. However, it will return periodically.

Just continue to repeat the above steps when this happens.

OP, had you taken the time to type "window auto" in the search bar instead of starting another thread, here's the threads you would have found in the top 10 results:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=window+auto

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=window+auto

thanks and if you had just put the links and not bitched for two posts it would have been great too. I guess nobody is perfect. Also making a new thread brings this to other peoples attention who may not have thought it was a problem on their car and now see the simple fix which has already been posted above

My brand new TL came off the lot with this problem when I bought it in 05. I never bothered to take it into the dealer until last month (out of warranty). It was the window regulator. Cost me about $250. to get replaced.

My drivers side does this a lot, I'll have to try the reset method, my passenger side does it but rarely, but my main concern would be my sunroof, when I crack the sun roof in the up position and I want to close it, it will close but pop back open right away, try to slide it open it does the same thing.

I'll search through the threads nfnsquared posted, just wanted to see if anyone if having the issues with the sunroof.

I just tried this and basically it broke the window. I had to turn the key on and off a bunch of times and play with it to get my window back up. It made it 100 times worse now it has a hard time going back up at all and gets stuck at the bottom until I play with it. Any ideas guys!?

Any suggestions here?

My window regulator seems to be overheating is that possible?

If I let it be for a while the window goes up and down but yestrday when I was messing with it it wouldnt go back up for a few minutes after this two second technique.

It scared the crap out of me I had never had that problem before just that on auto rollup it goes back down sometimes.

If the reset procedure didn't work, then I'd guess it's a bad regulator. They've been known to go bad at what I consider to be a higher than acceptable rate (and that's just based on what I've seen on Azine, not the entire TL population).

I just went in for an oil change yesterday and was getting it where I went to put up the passenger side window and it would stop half way up and go down. They came back 30 min. later and said both front windows had regulator and channel problems and replaced both for me for free under acura care warranty. Otherwise would have been a $800 repair based on my receipt.

How do I get it resolved if it is a fuse issue? Can I swap a fuse now since they are so easy and cheap?

Im pretty sure its not a fuse issue. I would be willing to bet your windows are tinted. The tint is causing too much pressure in the window jam and is causing the window to think something is stuck in the track. Roll it down, put some grease in the track, do the window reset and you are good. As others have said there are tons of threads on the matter. Instead of calling people jerks for not just telling you what to do, try searching more, or ask maybe ask for help on how to search. It does get old seeing the saaaaaame stuff constantly reposted. Theres no need to start a new thread so others can see the issue as the older threads constantly get bumped to the top.

If you dont have tinted windows i have no idea what the problem could be.

Also, even if its factory tint, Acura will not stand behind the issue.

I do have tinted windows 15% all around.
I got the car tinted the week after I bought it so I can't say if it was doing it before the tint.

Is there a way to grease the track without taking the door panel off?

I wonder why my passenger window goes up no problem with auto rollup?

I tried this, and it made it 100x worse. The window won't roll up more than 60% after I roll it down the FIRST time. Each time I rolled it down after, it went up less and less, until I had to pull it out of the door with my hands

FML this sucks. I finally got it all the way up and just put window lock on, so at least I'm the only one in control of accidentally rolling it down.

Try letting it cool down the same happened to mine.
Don't try the fix again just leave it and it should go back to how it was

Mine had similar issues, I replaced the window regulator myself and it fixed it. $85 for the part.
