Cruise Control Problem

I have search on the forum and read some interesting problems and fixes. I have tried them just to be on the safe side. However, none of them relates to my ccp that occur with mines. The cruise control lights up but when tried to set it; it wont lock on. At first it would but then it will dislock itself. Now it just wont lock. This started after I had replace the battery. I did swap out the rear tails and side markers for type-s but that was about 4-6 months ago and the cc work fine. Oh and its a 6spd.

is the button clicking in place? If not, it could just be a broken button. However if it is clicking in place but the car is not holding it, it's probably an issue with your brake switch.

i know my button doesnt stay pressed in, so i just have to hold the button. Which i like because i only use it on long drives, and after holding that button in for 30 mins, my arm starts hurting and it keeps me awake.

I think it's probably the switch that's broken. It's part no: 36770-SEP-A01 and it's around 30 dollars:

the biggest cost is labor b/c the air bag needs to be taken out and then the steering wheel switch. IMO if you have the tools, but it and do it yourself and while you are in there, replace all the bulbs with some nice LED's or factory replacements before one burns out and you have to repeat the process.

The button is holding in place. I guess I will check the brake switchs and wires on the tail lights and side markers again.
