P1077 INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUCTION (low rpm). Anyone have experience with this code?? At first I thought is may of been a hiccup so I cleared it, came back earlier this week took a look at the imrc tightened up the throttle cable a bit. It was fine for 2 days and now it's back again.. just wondering if there is anything else I can do before replacing the irmc unit .. the check engine light seems to turn on at start up but I don't notice a difference in how it starts or how the car drives

 

Not sure if this helps bu t i had the code P1078 - Intake Manifold Runner Control System Malfunction High RPM. I thought I had to change out the unit, so I ordered the part without even inspecting it. Funny thing, this code only popped if I hit 4000 RPM. If I never touched it, it never popped up. Upon arrival of the new unit, I finally took a look at the unit and then saw that the connection was just loose. Pushed the plug back in and worked without needing any change.

I'm not sure if you'll be so lucky, but check the connections first to see if they're all set. I just did a google search for P1077 and at least for the RSXs, it looks like it's a fairly common issue and usually the culprit is a sticking solenoid, which needs replacing. Good luck!

 

mom having the same engine code pop up, have you found the solution? It happened after I changed my valve cover gaskets.. everything still runs fine though. Just an annoying light on and want it gone

 

There is an actuator on the intake. Either you didn't connect it or you somehow got the flaps stuck.
