MAF Problem

Hey guys,

A while back I purchased the Takeda SRI. Since then, everytime I start my car I get the check emissions system error on my display. I have tried to unclip and reclip the sensor to the intake as well as resetting the cars computer by unhooking the negative on the battery. The error went away for about 10 mins then came back.

Anyone got any other options or things to try?

Thanks for your help.

it's fairly normal for an aftermarket intake to throw an emissions code due to the increase in air flow. how do you know it's your MAF that's causing the problem? have you checked the actual code?

it's possible that you MAF is dead and you need a new one. are you having any engine issues due to the code?

No engine issues, I only put it to the maf cause thats the only thing that changed was putting the maf in a new intake. I checked all hoses to ensure tight fits.

To get actual code checked is there a trick to doing that myself or best to go to an autozone, pepboys, etc?

i'm not sure if the MID can tell you. check the manual to see if it'll give you the actual code or not. but autozone, etc can definitely get the code read for you.
