Driver's Side Rattle - 2011 TSX (Wagon)

I've had my 2011 wagon for about a month now. There is a very slight rattle on the driver's side that I hear anytime I'm on rough pavement (which unfortunately is most of the time). I first noticed it on the way home from the dealer.

I haven't spoken to the dealer about it yet but I'm fairly certain that I've isolated it to the driver's side grab handle. It doesn't seem to be the handle bumping against the headliner since I can pull it down just slightly and the rattle continues. But if I pull it down just a bit further until the resistance increases the rattle stops, so the problem seems to be internal to the handle itself.

Has anyone else experienced this particular problem?

Mine is the grab handle that swings down from the headliner above the side window.

Should I assume from the lack of responses that this is not a common problem?

I hear it occasionally on my '09 TSX as well. Unfortunately, I think it's fairly common and normal. The TSX is not made to be a super-comfy ride (in other words, you feel the road), and I think some typical rattles and noises are a result of that.

If this one is common I would classify it as a design flaw. I've heard it in my car since the day I drove it off the lot and the noise is internal to the handle. It sounds to me like the internal spring mechanism is loose (and rattling) until it is loaded. My guess is that if it were loaded more when not in use it would not rattle.

I'll talk to the dealer about it when I'm in. Hopefully it's not a design issue and a replacement handle will fix it. Heck, I'd go for taking the handle off and putting a couple of plastic plugs in the mounting holes since I don't need it. Who holds onto those handles on the drivers side anyway?

No issue (yet)

Crossing my fingers though.

I actually hold the handle quite a bit, but I have not heard any noises from that area. When I have the window open slightly, I do sometimes hear the glass moving and flexing against the rubber. I tend to agree with ressling, our car is not meant for a super comfy ride.

Hope you are able to resolve the problem. Good luck.

Well I guess that answers my question about who holds onto the handle....YOU do! :-) Maybe I should start hanging onto mine to stop the rattle!

Actually it's not very loud, just a little annoying. When I need to go to the dealer for some other reason I'll discuss it with them.

1400 miles on my 2011 and no noises yet... and yes, I also found it strange that there was a handle on the driver side, but apparently it was made for MrOcto.
