Car wont turn on, dash lights blink, relays click, car wont shift. Helppp!!! :(

Good morning everyone. I need some assistance please. Last night I was driving home from work and I noticed my idle was like sputtering. And I noticed the car wouldn’t shift. I put the car in manual mode to shift to 5th and then the M and D light started blinking. I took a turn and shut off the car to reset it and my car never turned back on. Now when I try to turn it on my dash lights start going off and on and I hear relays going on and off. It sometimes won’t let me shift from P to N or vice versa. I had to pull the car home last night. I tried connecting an obd2 scanner and it shuts it off as soon as I connect it to the car. I noticed this morning when I tried turning it on again that my immobilizer light doesn’t always turn on. I tried using my 2nd key and that didn’t work either. Sorry for the long message but I’m desperate and need y’all assistance. I had to come in to work so I couldn't check anything with a voltmeter but plan on doing it when I go home tonight. And just in case this is for an 07 TL-S Auto.

I couldnt find my voltmeter to check it this morning. When I get out of work I will check it with one. But the car has power, its not losing anything. Everything turns on. I parked the car last night at like 11 pm and tried turning it back on at around 7 am and there was still juice.

You'd be surprised at the wierd symptoms of a poorly charged battery. There could also be a parasitic draw that's constantly pulling power from the battery even when the car is off.

This is very true. Hopefully that is the problem.

Thanks for the help gents. My car was recently at the shop and for some reason I had a loose ground. And when I say loose I mean disconnected completely. Lol connected it back on and now the car is back to normal.

It is quite amazing how many of those problems are fixed by replacing batteries or cables.

Enjoy your ride!
