Most likely your battery.

What year is your TL?

its most likely your battery if you can't even get the doors to open with the remote.

if your car is less than 3 years old, or if the battery has been replaced by acura within 100 months, you are entitled to a battery at little or no cost. The batteries on acura's suck, they die pretty quickly due to 1. under hood temps, 2. Excessive drainage that our cars put on them. Rule of thumb is to check them every 20K or year to see if the CCA's are not good.

My car died at a car wash today... very embarassing. I have 30k on the odo but the car is about 2 years old... I would think they should last longer than that.. but I'm looking into getting it replaced now. Doing a search as we speak for the best battery to get. My car has been intermitently dieing before this incident as well if I dont touch the car for like 2 or 3 days wont start, but this is the first time it died while going through a car wash.

Embarassing when you have a nice car and then the attendant has to ask you on what's wrong with it.

mine started getting weak when I wasn't driving it that much, then I left it for a week and it was done. Can't argue, the batteries just suck.

Amazingly enough, I had exactly the same thing happen to me and my car has about the same mileage as yours.

The dealership said that the cells have a tendency to fail on the batteries so they replaced it under warranty without questions.

So basically here's the deal, I have a 2006 with 33k miles on the ODO just got back from the dealer with a free brand new replacment of the battery. NO CHARGE... the car this morning completely died ... wouldnt even make the clicking noise that I usually get. I had to jump it and when I did... I had to wait about almost 10mts. just to get enough juice to crank it. I was shocked.

Ne wayz.. i was thinking about getting a yellow top or Braille but I figured why spend the money right now, since I should prolly be a little more frugal since I'm a student and dont have much comming in. Hence I settled for the inferior OEM battery. The sticker says it has a 100 month warranty, I wonder if that means I now have a new 100 months on that or is just the remainder of my 4 years/50k warranty? I should ask I guess.

I saw something about the Honda Odyssey battery as an alternative - lighter and smaller, I think. Check the Comptech Supercharger threads or their site. The SC requires a smaller battery and that's where I read about options. The Braille and Optima's are money, but they cost a lot of money. I just worry about CCA, since I like being able to roll my windows up after the cars off or listen to the radio a bit.

Wait I need to clarify something... I just re-read my post and I think its confusing. I want to clarify that after the replacement the car is fine. When I read that post it makes it seem as if the car is not starting after the new battery replacement. That was preceding the replacement so sorry for the confusion.

did a search and found this thread. It look like my battery went dead today. Was having trouble cranking it to start my car when i went home. After leaving it in the garage for an hour and went to check..didnt have enough juice to start it.

I have an 05 TL with about 45k on it. Got it back in Jul of 05, so it a little pass the 3 year mark. Read the warrently in the acura book in the glove dept..look like only a new replacement only within 2 year and anything after that you pay a % of the cost to replace.

I have an extended warrenty about through acura, but its a third party warrenty. I looked over the stuff and didnt see it mention battery. I am going to call the dealership tomorrow morning see if its covered or what..disappointing.

If i do get a yellow/red top...which one is better yellow or red Optima?

any help would be appricated.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday...2004 6MT with 72km (45K miles). Thought I had left a light on so I jumped it, drove it around for about 20 minutes and thought I was good to go. Get in the car this morning and it's dead again.

Since I'm out of my warranty I guess I'll have to buy a new one? I had the exact problems as the OP, it's not the alternator/starter/spark plugs or anything is it?

I called my dealership today. They said they will replace the battery if it the issue, free no prorated. Just as long as i dont have 50k on it and i think the battery is 5 year warrenty.

Call your dealship and ask..might not have to pay for a new one.

I also ask what kind of battery they will replace it with...well..it another acura one.

My gf has an '08 TLS w/ about 5K miles. She's taking her car in this Friday for her 2nd battery. I thought Acura's rarely had issues. Just a pain...
