Question '07 TL Battery Issue

so my battery is dead, I will get a new one this afternoon. However someone else I know has the same car and needed a new battery as well a few years ago. Does Bluetooth have anything to do with draining your battery? if so how do you disconnect it...

hold on just a minute.
you're jumping to conclusions.

How old is the battery? usually there is a date sticker on the battery itself. it shows you when the battery was made.

if its two or more years older and with the weather changing; you can bet its time for a new battery.

however; if you're experiencing a parasitic draw even after you change the battery; the HFL might be to blame

justn is correct.

Validate the age and condition of your battery first. Do you have corrosion? Are all the connections tight?
You say the battery is dead......is that because it won't start? Is it the starter?

Then do a search here on AZ. Bluetooth / HFL unit parasitic draw is common and there are lots of threads about how to disconnect and/or fix the problem.

How old is the battery?
if its two years or older, it might not even hold a charge.

try the new battery first WILLT429, give it a trial period (IMO 1 week or so), if it doesn't die on you then its probably a good sign that your bluetooth is fine.

I've been having battery issues as well as of late. Usually if I don't drive my car for a day it will die, plus my HFL is down as well. I'm testing my battery and seeing how frequently it dies, but seems like I will have to get a new one before winter hits.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We have had two TLs and an MDX. We only had to replace the one in the MDX.

Had you found the corrosion yourself you, MIGHT have been able to resolve this yourself. However guessing your battery is the original (??) it is likely due anyway - especially headed into the Winter months.
