I am aware of jptl04's mastery of CF...WOW is all I can say...He's on another level...
Not an option, when it's done right, vinyl>PD all day long...gloss finish is key!!
^ on everyone's list...but noone seems to have enough disposable income as The Hot Tub King!!

alright so yesterday i installed the sharksfin antenna. here we go.
here is all the stuff you have to remove to get to the stock antenna. flat head, phillips head, 17mm socket.
also threw on the heeltoe dark chrome rear emblem.
...and tomorrow i'm installing these...

thanks. i'm real happy with the outcome.
i just went outside and took this pic for you at work.
yes. after i took the XM antenna off, i reconnected the harness and 3M'd it between the headliner and roof. i still get reception.

damn right. about time to make the TL a little fancy!
also, the XM antenna is just 3M'd pretty much right underneath where it sat on the roof...only now, it's between the headliner and roof. it's the only good spot for it since it has to be connected to a harness that won't stretch. fits pretty good there, but i don't have any pics sorry.

buttons are actually puddle lights. got 5k extreme whites. gonna tap into the courtesy lights so they will come on/off when i lock/unlock the car. also came with a rocker switch so i can turn them on/off whenever i'd like. thanks! i'm looking forward to the install!

About the sharkfin...not too shabby! Did I misunderstand? You said you had good reception with no xm antenna but then said you need to keep it to keep xm functionality?!?

dave i'm actually installing this one myself...today after work.
ahhh i'm so confuzzled! rockstar, i meant that when i removed the stock XM antenna, and then relocated it between the headliner and the roof...i STILL have reception. i was worried that i wouldn't, but it's all good.
GP, i never had just the little antenna with no wires, it was always the bulky squarish one that has XM functionality.
i've got more complicated things in store for Dave than just some puddle lights! might need your help too oscar...

The puddle lights look really cool I think. I installed on my TL and am really happy with how they turned out. Much classier look than just the average under glow. I do have to fix mine though because a few of the wires disconnected.

all hail jptl04! he's def my inspiration on a bunch of projects. setting the tone for the rest of us...Dude!!! I just seen the concealed display install... Definitely clean! I like it. You have balls to cut up the dash like that! Props! Came out really nice. Something way different than mine. People always hit me up and ask "whats that gauge pod for?" when tell them they trip out and say "wow! It looks stock!" I need to keep an eye on you man!! Awesome job. Anytime you have a question or need advise on any mods hit me up. I stil have some crazy ideas left in this head of mine.
Btw. I was reading your system build thread. they sell synthetic C/F cloth vinyl. I have some in my trunk on the trim panels of my amps and 3sixty. Looks and feels real.
