but yeah man it worked like a charm. i actually just dremeled off the plastic tab, and left the bracket where it was...just pushed it back a bit for added clearance. haven't had it rub since.
getting the front fenders rolled today after work.
thanks, tyler.
what's next on your list?

thanks d00d. i still have a bit more work to do. i'm trying to figure out a way to incorporate headphones into all of this. passenger can watch a movie and listen with headphones while i can drive and still retain/listen to CD's/ipod/etc.
holy wheel sizes batman! got any pics/offsets?
*alright well since i was bunkered down the whole weekend (thanks irene ) i decided to wrap more interior parts with CF di-noc.
do any of you guys wrap the parts on the left and right pictured below? i think i'm leaving it as is.

**alright a little update, last night i decided to tackle something that i'd wanted to do for a long time. hardwire the V1 detector/concealed display (with a twist)**
first things first. tape off and trace the area you want to cut.
trace area with exacto knife and remove styrofoam padding.
grab your dremel and start cutting...no turning back now! (thanks dave!)
cut all the fine inner edges with your knife so the display fits in snug.
display fits like a glove. hardwire the V1 to the display and tap your positive wire onto fuse#24 (this allows you to turn your detector on and off with a push of a button...in this case, your window lock button. it also turns off automatically when you turn your car off). ground your black wire to any exposed screw and tighten down...(i used the trunk release screw).
you have to remove the a-pillar in order to snake the wire to your v1 unit which got mounted under the tint band on the right hand side of the rear view mirror. just press the wire into the headliner for a clean, wire-free install. dont' have any pics of this...sorry.

But seriously it looks great Aaron! Sorry I didn't text back last night, I was busy at work and passed out once I got home.

Aaron, when you aren't at work, you're working on your car. And since you still have a girlfriend, I'm assuming you make time for her too....so you must not sleep much...In any case, amazing effort as usual!!!

looks nice. i have a v1 hardwired myself except i didn't use the concealed display like you did.
i have a question. while your driving on the highway going 60mph and your v1 goes off, which one do you find yourself looking at the most?
the actual v1 unit that is mounted on your windshield to the right of the rear view mirror or the concealed display that you have hidden down under the drivers side air vent?

thanks man. it was great finally seeing your car at I.A. that front bumper is sick!
thanks man!
thanks. when you use the concealed display, it automatically puts your V1 detector in 'dark-mode' so it won't light up at all. looks like it's not even turned on. plus, i can barely even see the V1 when i'm driving...the concelead display on the other hand is in my perfect line of vision.
hell man...if you did yours like mine the officer wouldn't even know what the hell it is. looks very OEMish.
thanks. yeah i had wanted those wheels ever since i saw another member running them MANY months ago. i like them a lot.
thanks!
thanks. yeah it lights up, it's one of the few console bulbs that isn't burned out on mine lol...i need to get in there and replace all of them at some point.

it's pretty pricey at $80. it seems pretty handy though. I know driving at night it's hard to distinguish the bands from each other because all you see is a red dot. BUT if you got good ears, you can definitely tell if it's the KA band that's been detected.
also, since the actual v1 detector isn't lit up, where does the beeping sound come from? the concealed display or the v1 unit itself?
