+wtf... trunk/rear window spoiler?

Those smilies are definitely FTW

I had to scroll up and do a double take on your car pics when someone suggested the A-Spec lip kit. I thought "wait that car looked badass, it didn't have the kit already?" Sure enough...

Going to look sick man.

I want to get a RSB as well. Just something else on my ever-growing, never ending to-do list.

hey thanks man!

*ok guys, only acurazine approved smilies are allowed on page 8. no exceptions.*

other plans for this weekend include...

hardwire valentine1 radar detector and concealed display to window switch. i'll be mounting the concealed display in the top cubby hole in the center console. install guide shown at link below

font bumper acura decal in white.

swift motorsports hideaway front licence plate holder. also will be rigging up a motorized hinge and switch for the cabin. basically turning the manual plate holder into the motorized one for 1/3 of the cost.

Aaron you'll be proud, I'm not going to use our smiley website in your thread anymore.

I can't wait to see all of this stuff put on the car! You're going to be crazy busy this weekend installing all of it.

maybe LEOs in jersey bust your balls for stuff like this, but i know plenty of people in MD who run plateless and have never had a problem. there is no way i'm running a front plate when i install the aspec kit.

i'll take my chances with the motorized holder. looking forward to putting everything together too. the project has been in the back of my mind for a while now and i have to execute it.

secondly, i've checked with maryland MVA about front plate installation and they sent me back an excerpt from the regulations which stated only that it had to be mounted on the front and it had to be secure...well, it'll be mounted on the front n i'll be able to flip it up or down with the push of a button.

I'm very curious about this now. I'm in NY and I've been plate-less since I bought my TL in November, but I cringe every time I pass a cop bc I know sooner or later I'm going to get pulled over.

So if you have your motorized plate installed and a cop thinks you don't have a front plate and pulls you over, then what....you pull over, flip the switch to make the plate come out, and pretend it was there the whole time so he'll let you go? I can't imagine many (if any) cops will fall for it.

Or the other scenario (after you get theoretically get pulled over), is to show the cop that you actually do have a front plate and show him how it's motorized. In that case, you're still going to get a ticket, bc your plate isn't being displayed properly. This is why you'll get a ticket even if your plate is displayed on the front dash through the windshield. It has to be displayed properly or you're getting doomed to get a ticket.

Regardless, I'd still be willing to give it a try.

i totally understand Ack's concern, and yours...believe me.

i don't plan on fooling the cop whatsoever. if i'm driving around with the plate hidden, then get pulled over, then flip the switch like houdini...no cop will be like "oh, well i'm sorry citizen. i could have sworn i did not see a front plate on your car. my apologies. carry on with your day."

in the rare situation, where i do get pulled over n the cop says i pulled you over for not having a front plate. i'll act surprised ...get out of the car and walk to the front and be like, "oh, officer (throw my hands up). i'm sorry, i just came from a photoshoot (or some other bs excuse) and i forgot to flip my license plate back up before i left."

then i'll flip it up, he'll see that i have it properly displayed. i'll continue to tell him that i honestly just forgot to put it back up, and that it won't happen again. he'll give me a warning and set me free. (<that's how it goes in my perfect real world scenario )

but like i said, i know plenty of people in my area who don't have front plates and have never once had a problem. i hope to fall into that same category. i also feel confident that i can talk my way out of it, i've done it numerous times before in other situations. let's just hope my luck hasn't run out yet!
