Honestly, she sleeps inside at night and in gated locked place at work. It's the Miami in me that makes me paranoid.
I agree on it not stopping someone but figured I'd make it as difficult as possible.

I agree on the color but my current no contrast theme leaves very few places to introduce color...and since the headlight ring and the valvestem...

^^^ Just to share with you....i took my ex-girls Honda Accord to my mechanic at Firestone....and she did have the Honda Wheel lock's key with her....

the guys says dont worry, I got it....

I come back after an hour and he took care of everything...the only point am making is, you cant stop a motivated thief....if the thief wants to steal you rims, no matter how low you are or what wheel locks you got, wont matter....will only make it harder for him and in frustration he might damage more stuff to your car....

my Honda CBR 600RR was stole from outside my apartment, 5 feet from my bedroom window...she was handle locked, chained, covered and yet they took her....cant do anything about it....

You can't stop someone that REALLY wants whatever you got...BUT you can make it a LOT harder for them to take it. Enough so that they might just say EFF it and skip over it. Deep seated lug nuts that are ALL locks is more of a deterrent than just one set of locks on the wheel.

I'm not saying it'll prevent it, I'm saying it'll make it less likely as there is an inverse relationship between easy theft and it actually happening.

Agreed. I'd rather put up a fight than let them get away easy. Plus, you might get lucky and have enough time to surprise them with a baseball bat if they're being stalled by your wheel locks.

^^^ John i prefer to live than someone steal my rims....

you might go out there with a baseball bat or a gun but if he is trigger happy (out of surprise) you might now live to tell the tale....

as i said, somethings are easy to replace (rims/car/etc) life is not....

I have had my house broken into, my honda cbr 600rr stolen from outside my apartment....and all I have to thank is I was not present....these guys SUCK to the core and its better to have insurance take care of it, rather than being present there and getting seriously hurt....

Brother, you wouldn't believe...I'm sitting there staring at these 4 lug nuts feeling totally helpless and out of ideas. I LITERALLY wanted to cry. I'll contact work for some replacements...I have the other 16 good lugs on ebay right now, figured maybe a 4 lugger would buy em. I won't say I'm giving up on the whole open ended lugs or whatever...just unsure...I've actually considered going with neo chrome since that matches pretty much any color you add or remove from the car.

Anil...I'm with you, man...I too would rather have them take the car or rims or whatever than get into a shoot out etc...people always assume the outcome would be them being victorious...but that's sadly not always the case. I'm just saying I'd rather make it as annoying and difficult as possible...and I hear what you're saying but you DEFINITELY agree with me...hello, you had the cover and lock and chain lock and your bike STILL got taken...so you threw your hands in the air and said eff it...I feel you. Next bike, keep it in the house.

When I was 13, we were at my aunts house...someone broke into my Mom's place...crawled into my window. It did something to me and made me very paranoid. I had vowed, since then to not be a willing victim ever again. It CAN happen...but I do my damndest to prevent it. I didn't like that feeling of being violated.

I agree with both of you...my fiancee thinks I'm nuts for how careful I am but she says she appreciates that i try and keep all our stuff and US safe at all times. When I smell a rumble in the bleachers at the UM games...I grab her and say let's GTFO. She says I have an uncanny ability to smell when something is going to happen...I told her, a lot of people let curiosity get the best of them and stick around too long to see what's going on...Me, I'll get out, and read about it in the paper later.

I would LOVE a bike...1000CBR specifically...but I am afraid of it...I bike (cycle) everywhere...love being on 2 wheels...and have ridden a 4 wheeler and 3 wheeler and mastered the clutch brake thing instantly. I just have NEVER driven a motorcycle because once I do...it's over. I'm getting one...and getting one in Sofla is a death wish. I want an urban assault like a buell..the ones with no ferrings...or a cafe racer type...those are what i love.

J we could be pee's in a pod. i would ride my bike more if it didn't mean 15+ miles to the store, or any where else... also, I can feel bad things when they will happen. i've never been wrong. sometimes it didn't exactly justify leaving, but who knows how the 'ripple effect' would work out if i hadn't left.
always freaks me out because of the Final Destination movies...lol

^^^ hahaha....my parents never let me get a bike back in India....the traffic and the rules are just not safe there

my colleague said he has a honda cbr 600rr...and asked me you wanna ride her ???....i was like "dude dont wake the demon inside"....rode the bike and bought it off his hands 2 days later LOL....no license, no insurance

but yeah you gotta be careful on a bike....people in America are a lot more aware of riders, where as back in India, this is how you drive/ride:

LOL...yes sir, we are kindred spirit. My Dad is European and rides bike or rollerblades everywhere...when we were kids...my sister and I were the little ducklings following so it comes naturally to me. I don't road bike though, I have a converted road bike into a hybrid sport bike, my specialized mountain bike and my hybrid cruising bike. Just now trying to get my fiancee into joining me for some cruises here and there.

DANG...that looks nuts in India, Anil...I don't blame your parents one bit.

Well, I went out on a 3 wheeler before they were banned...in 1996 or so...went down the block, hit the gas too much and popped a wheelie...putted back home turned it off and never touched one again.

About 3 weeks ago I went with my friend 4 wheeling but like MIAMI style driving down residential streets and sneaking into this new development...I was like 10 years older than the crowd so I was nervous etc...started off on a 250...went down the block, by the time I turned around I was FLYING giving it all she had. By end of day I did the same thing with the 450 predator. LOVED IT...

One day, my friend...one day.

^^^dem things work on sand?!?! They look like fun!

i'm getting too old to give a flying FK what people think...I still go out on my K2's and blade proud...sometimes even at lunch at work. I'm like 40% sure I'm straight so i don't care (dont' tell my fiancee please).

Seriously though...I love that trail...i grew up doing some pretty urban rides to the end of Key Biscayne (the beach) and through all the cars and neighborhoods...
As it stands, i ride my 2007 Stumpjumper FSR every Wednesday at Markham park. About as much of a Mountain bike trail as we have in Sofla.

they have heat condenser's like what circuit boards have, if you do a conversion to a radiator you can pretty much all day. there are quite a few youtube videos of just that!

i wish there were more downhill trails around here. best you can do is go through the park district horse trails, but its a good 15 miles til you get there, and that shale trail is a good workout haha. i'm pumped for spring so i can get back out there!

its funny you say k2's, my dad got a set back in the day so he could go with me, and those fit me, so if i ever feel the need... i'm out rocking k2's myself!!

seriously rolling on the 40% comment though, shit is hilarious

LOL...glad you enjoyed that!

yeah, when i was old enough to afford things on my own, I bought myself a P I M P set of blades, they have this string tightening system etc. I used to blade with my super hot ex...I'd do my shirt up in a knot and blade SUPER effeminate like making a joke...figured it was pretty funny to be nailing this gorgeous girl and have people drive by thinking I'm a Hmo.

That's pretty cool to know about the snow mobiles...I have never ridden any of those either. Got my bike on the back of the car to hit up markham today...here's a youtube of some of it if you have a minute.
some of the shots are at quiet waters park (another one I go to)

You get the idea...

PS, emailed with Logan from Work wheels usa...paid the $40 for 4 replacement lugs (including lock)...pulled my ebay listing. I'll either get a small 3mm spacer (so I don't run into that issue again) or will sell them as a full set.

Oh yeah dude...those vids are the BOMB...I have been watching those for a while.
Did you know Google maps, if you turn off the roads function you can select a bike or something and it shows you ALL the local bike trails. Just heard about that last week. Haven't done it for myself though.

also, what kind of bike rack do you have? do you like it? i have a strap on trunk one, but you can't leave it on like if you get caught in the rain, since the straps end up letting water in the trunk

that's awfully nice of you to say...I'm blushing!

I have a Yakima 4 bike rack...I can't leave it on AND park in the garage but it's easy to put on. I have a 1.25" trailer hitch receiver I transferred over from my RSX.

Thanks, Sean...from my picnik mentor, that means a lot.

Yeah, most of the hitches will work...just bolt up to the tow point on the back with the spacers, mark the trunk and drill it out!

Don't be...you'll NEVER see these holes and you can use a grommet or just some silicone around it to keep the water out. $100 and you're golden, bike OFF the car!

I will say that with my setup...if I put 2 or three HEAVY bikes on it, it does push the floor of the trunk up a little...I hop in it and bounce it back down...

SO the trick is just keep your 28 pound bike on it alone.

Gorgeous, would likely never get it though...looks too street bike ish and you know if you're leaning forward, you're not likely to just cruise along at 55mph.

What you got going on with your car these days? Any fun mods?

oh yeah i know what you're saying. I would probably get a more upright/sport framed combo style bike. i think yamaha has one called the f6? i sat on it and it was nice. kinda like a quad!

well, i was lining up coils. was about to ask for paypal, but then i got a blowout on the front right. then i realized i've lost my lock key, and can't pull the tire off. went to the tire place where i had the replacement policy, they gave be about 7 different ones to try, none worked.
i'm trying to figure out if i need to get it towed, or if my acura buddy can help me figure out which key i need. sucks.

Ok, so yesterday I wrote back and forth with Logan from work wheels...
I'm really hellbent on a more obvious lug than the gorillaz I have now (that are all chipped and need to be repainted.

So, my options for using the work lugs up front when i run the +35 with no spacer on the extended lugs is to buy a little tiny 3MM spacer which will give me the clearance on the end of the studs to bolt down the work lugs.

OR, I can sell them for probably about $120 on ebay...(meaning I only lost 20 bucks...100 to buy them and $36 to replace the 3 nuts and 1 lock from work)

and get something like this...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170783492868...ht_6231wt_1056

Want to make sure that's the blue is truly depicted cause if it is it matches pretty well, it has a lock, is 2 inches long which will accommodate the longer studs and is still closed ended.

What you do all think?
