John...ha ha...yeah, right around the corner! Only 4 hours North of me!
Actually, I'll be at Monster Trucks this weekend! And Stuart at my Stepdad's condo the following.

Sean, sorry man...didn't know, had never heard that!

My camber plays a big factor though...and I bet my from ground to fender might be higher than 25" even though it looks low with the rims.

I know where Stuart is. My grandparents have a house in Vero Beach which is where we'll be staying between visits to see Mickey and Shamu.

Yeah, the 19's give off that illusion making your car look lower, when you actually have more ground clearance than someone with the same suspension drop and 18's. My ground-to-fender length is closer to 24", but you look way lower than me.

Indeed...well, if you make your way ALL the way down...it'd be cool to meet! We are trying to get a Sofla meet on March 31st too...in Broward.

J.

Yeah, I agree...the ground clearance on the TL is actually amazing, I've found...other than that front plastic air diffuser and super steep inclines...you won't hit almost anything. Crazy...so you could be tucking a little tire and not have to worry about losing your oil pan! Sometimes I want to be lower, but no thanks...the car drives great the way it is now and it's almost all the way down on the tein SS.

Hmm...you'll have to keep me updated on this. My wife wants to visit one of her friends in Pompano Beach right around that time, so there's a chance I could make a guest appearance.

i was gonna say this!!!!! on the audi i had the same fender gap, but i would scrape a lot of crap, and couldn't cross those half curb dead lanes without hitting my subframe/oil pan....i cracked 1 @ stock height too...

part of why i wanted a TL is because of how high the body is compared to the wheel wells, like you are saying, you can tuck tire and not lose drivability

That would be awesome, man. South Florida people are flaky though but if you're in Pompano, it's super close. I am committed to going out to this park called Vista View out west. Easy to get to if you shoot across 595 (15 min from I95). There's a thread on it in regions.

Sean, for SURE! Sometimes it's deceiving though cause if you look at distance to ground, the car doesn't seem like it's very low but then you look at your tires and they're tucked in the well. I was actually looking at the flow at the bottom of the car and it looks like I could lower the rear a bit more. That would cause the rear to be more tucked than the front to level out the bottom of the car. Only problem with that is I know how I am...if the back is more tucked than the front it gives the illusion that the front is offroading, which I hate. I'll probably just leave well enough alone...or lower it slightly.

I'd have to wholeheartedly agree with you there Sean.

PS...

FTG
Front = 24"
Rear = 24.5"

The subtle difference is slightly more noticeable with the thin tires...so I will likely tweak tonight.

nice! that's perfect. the audi was 24.75 front, and 25.25 rear. i wanted another .25-.5 off that but my strut bodies weren't meant to be threaded that low. my lower arms were 100% level with the ground though

pretty sure those are your tires, just a 17" instead!

totally know what you mean on the tires though. because switching to my 18's the gap looked huge with just a slight stretch (225 on an 8")

and i'm gonna edit some pictures of yours starting now.

your intercooler looks slightly larger than mine though...

yeah, I think those are my tires...I am in love with them. Reallly, between that and the great job the dude did balancing them. The car drives like a dream.
Hmm...I'll have to post a profile pic. it's not THAT off but definitely has a slightly raked look.

Hopefully it'll work out...wish I could be down there with my TL. Instead I'll prob show up in a rental mini-van...literally. I'll have to pull over and plasti-dip the wheels before I get there, otherwise it'll be way too embarrassing.

1. Steven Bell, you are the man. Again, thank you.
2. Ok, made some adjustments to rear coils last night and I'm now at 24" FTG front and 24.25" rear...MUCH more evenly sitting now...the back was kinda jacked up looking...amazing what a quarter inch does for the look. Will take pics soon.

AND, running pretty straight camber...9" on 225 and almost all the way down on the coils...I sat 900 pounds of coworkers in my car to go to lunch today with NO rub.

Every time I see the date get bumped up, I KNOW it's you!

Thank you so much...
They gorilla ones I painted were nice and got the job done...but after spending the $120 for the center caps...I was always tempted to get the ACTUAL work lugs...just couldn't fathom spending $200 on the open ended ones and honestly, I like the chunkiness of the closed ones.

Plus, if you watch the video and I'm sure when I'm on the highway, it's obvious enough to actually be visible when rolling...which is awesome.

You really got me eyeballing some anodized red close-ended Work lugs to match my wheels instead of my cheap Muteki "titanium" open-ended lugs. I agree 100% that closed looks way better than open. How else are people supposed to see the Work logo lol...Kind of afraid they'll turn pink after a couple years though. Do you think they'd fit fine over the Akata/Ichiba V2 spacer studs, or do you think they'd need to be drilled out a bit like you did?

About them turning pink, I'd HOPE not!

About the spacer thing...not a version II, bud...those are the same stud length as oem, i believe. My rear ones went on just fine. The fronts...were the studs that came with my V1 eibach spacer...so WITHOUT the spacer on (since offset was different front to back) I had an extra 10MM of threading on the stud. I was VERY relieved that I was only off by a few MM's...and was able to drill them out to make it work. Had I NOT been able to, I probably would have gone with open ended or just hung with the gorilla brand ones.

My main issue is my rims are +35 and +45...so to rotate I have to come up with a clever way to swap around my spacers (or get others) to try and maintain my +35F/+25R how it sits now.

I COULD put the spacer back on the front with the +45 to end up with the +35.
Then take the +35 and put it on my 20MM spacer and end up with +15 on the back, but with as low as I am, i am positive I will rub.

Yikes. My Works are +35 all around (18x8" front, 9" rear, all on 225 tires), so I'll be doing the +15 challenge soon on the rear and my fronts (with spacers) will end up being +20. I may end up with some serious pokage.

Side note, just got the spacers in the mail...THANKS!

You know what's funny Anil...they ARE! I couldn't find the rotation arrow anywhere on them. They are asymmetric so I CAN swap them side to side but no matter what if you don't swap your drive tires with your rears, you will wear them down faster. If I didn't want to go on a mission I could still just be satisfied with it being +35 all the way around (with the spacer up front and none on the back when I rotate. We shall see).

John, you'll probably be ok, I don't think you're as low as me and you're getting your fenders rolled too, no!? Also, I'm super anal about having pretty straight camber so, yeah, that also presents a problem when trying to clear the fenders. I know a bunch of people are pulling off more aggressive than that.

And Bamm, what a Monster. Amazing car, lovin every Detail.

What exhaust you got, sounds great. Sorry for this question, but you got 43 sides, too much to read for me, I was picking only a few sides!
Hondo, thank you very much, quite a compliment! I appreciate the feedback. I will admit, this car has taken on a life of it's own. It is my passion (aside from my fiancee of course).

It's actually a SEMI stock exhaust, actually. I have the intake resonator removed...a K&N drop in filter in the oem box. Throttle body and intake manifold thermal gasket and spacer, richie rv6 jpipe, 3rd cat removed, and stock resonator swapped out for a dynomax (stage III exhaust mod). That's it...the end is oem tips/mufflers. I love the oem tips...always have. SOrry, gave you the WHOLE path of the air to get from start to finish. I usually click "find new posts" and look through there rather than just stick to one part of the forum. J.

Thank you sir, I was iffy about it, but looking back, I had such a hard time with getting used to having such a boring color (yes, looks AMAZING when clean...but I love colors) that I was REALLY trying to find ways to add some color to it. Guess I succeeded!

Anil, I was BORN Global, baby! I was born in Switzerland! The French part though...otherwise I'd have a whole car convo with Hondo about you.

GP...workin on it, man. On the agenda for this weekend...the rotors and and the CCFL's. You KNOW I'm waiting for your DIY! At least that'll take your mind off the new damage!

Sorry to hear about that, man.

J.

Wait till you see new pics...the back being lowered a quarter inch realllllly sets off the rear wheels so well.
