^^^ Chad, Plastic intake?
I has a 4" aluminium tube
Jeremy, I would just get a silicone adapter, 3" tube with a 90deg bend and cut it to size and install it....will be ~70 bucks....
...and are you comparing yourself to Steven Bell?
you know he is saving up the CAI for the Stingray he gets right

Yes sir, I'm dumb...I got the DDM tuning 6K ones...sold the CBI's to sauceja for a friendly price like a dumdum and then immediately regretted the noticeable drop in visibility. I literally could not discern the cut off line from the DDM from more than 40 feet away.
Fk that...amber with 5K is where it's at!

I do have some headlight ideas which I might wanna try but well lets see how it goes....

Thanks Fellas!
Love your avatar Kaii! :cute:
Anil, trust me, once you try them, you won't go back.
This was the thread that sealed the deal for me. Made me choose CBI again.

Jeremy, on the thread you linked, people were going with SVS....seems like SVS might offer more usable lumens but color is towards 3000K-4000K....interesting find though....
Chad, am not stuck on 6000K....i like the tint on the 6000K....but when you compare night driving safety to color, I would pick the safety everytime....so far the 6000K I got seemed perfect but I have noticed some decrease in the light output....maybe the bulb is old? maybe I have been driving the wifey's car tooo often? not sure LOL....

SVS is bright as heck but it's like the new osram competitor to the 85122+
CBI is the closest you'll come to the top of the line NON YELLOWISH (read, closer to 6K) bulb.
Anil, yes, the lighting guru guys will ALWAYS go for a 4300 yellowish oem colored bulb above all else. BUT, if you like the pure white look, CBI is the best you can get. I posted the link primarily for the comparison shots...on those side by sides, visibility in the distance appears the SAME, to me...only difference is color. In addition, I've read various sites that actually rate the CBI output at higher than the svs and 85122+ over time, believe it or not. Like, over 3400 lumens which is pretty incredible.
Anyway, always good to have more to research!

Yea I'm sure they lost some intensity. Honestly at this point just wait for some Black Friday sales on bulbs and get the CBIs then.
And if you're truly going for safety then SVS is the way to go.

I looked at those comparison shots between SVS and CBI too Jeremy. IMO, both are bright as could be, and obviously plenty bright enough for basically anyone's needs. At that point, it comes down to color preference IMO, and I would have a whiter white.

Everything I have is 5k myself. But with the variety of weather we get, the kelvin on the SVS is a tad better overall, in regards to safety.
Although you pay the extra on the CBI to retain that lumen output at that kelvin. Whereas with the SVS the gains are so slim lumen wise you may be better off with just a 85122+ and save the extra cash.

I had originally gotten the non cbi regular osram 66240 and I remember feeling super blown away by them. They were just too yellow for my taste. Again, in some thread I read a guy had his own lumen meter and registered the CBI as even higher than their rating and definitely higher than the yellower. More visibly pleasing depending on preference, sure...but more "usable" light has to hit an equilibrium point where it doesn't matter any more. How long did we get driven around by our parents in their unsafe 900 lumen halogen cars?!
And nice edit, Chad...caught it just in the nick of time to not be wrong!

Texting while driving mistake. Let's not measure bulb and HID knowledge, mmmkay.
At any rate, I would never consider paying $180+ for bulbs.
On that note, Anil, I have a $25 gift card for TRS that I'll send your way for free if you ever decide to jump on a new pair of bulbs.

Actually, funny story, yesterday on that FS FB post...for some reason as I
was typing I confused with how much he was asking for his car and how much the guy was asking for the car he was trying to buy, made an ass of myself for giving the guy advice on possibly lowering his asking price...and I wasn't even driving
#8869
oh, and that's a really nice offer, Anil...I'd jump all over that, man. If you REALLY want the most cost effective safe bulb and do want the regular osrams or even the 85122 that would put you right around 100 bucks for them. Not bad at all!

Thanks, bud!
They are amber. I actually just bought another set of white switchbacks that match the 5k better, but after popping one in, I actually like the amber better.
J.
Quick shoot today since I waxed her Friday night!
and the rain set in, of course...shot under pressure from here out!
Betty REALLY liked this one
Fake brembo covers, I would have never thought, but I love them
and best way to start the week! with a full tank!
