ass ass ass ass, stop...
Thanks, Quan. I do love it. Took a lot of squats to get it lookin that way too.
The other TL is my buddy from work, he loved my TL, so he got one too. Still working on getting him to lower, space and slightly mod it.

Spoiler is looking good man. My NBP '05 had the A-spec kit and that spoiler, I always liked it. I also liked the stock all red tails against the black, but I like the tails you have on right now even more.
Ass ass ass ass.

Another issue, if I were to...say.....make an adapter plate to couple the stock AZ6 tranny and a J series block is where the crank lines up with the input shaft of the transmission. The FA20 and AZ6 transmission is mounted quite high in the engine bay/transmission tunnel. The space under the engine (and theres tons of it) is taken up by the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. If you were to take any regular 60* V engine and line the crank up with the input shaft, you'd have tons of room below but not much above.

I doubt it.
Theyre wide, thats for sure, but the hood is quite low.
I thought that was our little secret???
There are issues that I've already noted in other threads, but Ill post here as well.
As I mentioned above, the hood line is VERY low. The 2UR-GSE powered 86 had extensive firewall work down to push the engine back. Im not doing that.

I've thought about swapping in an EZ36 (3.6l flat 6 out of a Legacy). Im pretty sure it would fit, but from what we've been seeing so far, the FA20 is a VERY capable engine with FI and I really like having Direct Injection and port injection, as that means more boost.
Thank you. At least someone has some sympathy.

I prefer the FA20 engine. Among the things that I like about it: high compression, timing chain, direct injection.

Its high for boost, but the direct and port injection system can handle it pretty well. There are quite a few cars running ~15psi on stock internals with no knock/detonation. Only upgrade was larger port injectors. Im shooting for 5-8psi for now. I'd be plenty happy with ~280whp.

Water/meth will be an upgrade later on, but 8psi on 93 octane is safe. A few of the 15psi cars are running pump gas. One in particular is running north of 400hp. There is only one station within 2 hours that has e85, but its on a military base. You need to permission to access the pumps and you can only get gas Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.
I also cant see running E85 on a car with a 13 gallon tank. I struggle to get 340 miles out of a tank now. Having to fill up every 200-250 will absolutely suck.

damn. yeah you don't want that. If I were you, I would have it all set up and running when its still only highs of 50's so you can see how YOUR motor and setup will handle knock. Not all cars were created equal as we used to say about S4's. Some could run 5* more timing advance and be fine, shit like that. That way you'll know if you need to think about something like octane adders, or if you don't and can say fuck it lol.

OMG, and now my thread is so on TOPIC, my dang head is going to explode!
BUT, that said, it's all interesting stuff. Always nice to have 2 people discuss that actually know what they are talking about.
The more I get to know you, Sean, the more I'm surprised you ever even had a TL>

I like nice interiors, and needed something reliable without that rainy day cloud over my head....you know...maintenance costs. Plus, they look sexy as a mofucka....haha.
Yeah, but I have to say. Most of my buddies with similar tastes, they all were like 'you bought a what?' then I'd let them ride in it/drive it...and all of them started throwing me offers to buy it lmfao.

Well, just having the original 'sport model' we have a huge leg up on most of the TL's people have seen aka the auto's. Plus, like you, I did the type-s shocks and springs (you did coils) before ending up with another driver behind the wheel. I haad also done all the deletes and whatnot as well.
It was always funny, because my buddy with the sexy evo, he had the hardest time driving my car because it was so stock....I mean that really tells you something about how engrained in our (our being me and my buddies) blood having modified cars is...yet he still loved the fuck outta it, just as much as me. He even sends me pics of TL's he sees with mods with frowny faces lol.
That's why I always say, I would for sure own another. But as everyone knows, I still need something to get my rocks off!

Sean, what a perfect segway into my intended post. And trust me, brother, I feel the same way. Whenever we take Betty's car, I'm like, "meh", even though it's tastefully modified I spend the whole time thinking...MAN...if we were in my car _______!
Anyway, it's been a WHILE and I don't think I've been able to cleanly park next to a totally stock NBP 04 TL. Today was the day! I've come a long way, jeez.

Sometimes I forget how much I've done to my car until I park next to a stock WDP
Your car looks great as always J. Dem tail lights
And whoever drives that stock NBP can't park for shit.

Morgan, you're way off. Austin knelt down () and prayed "God, please give me a much less low and much less aggressive and awesome version of Aaron's car". The next day, there it was.
LOL...that's awesome. Your new favorite!
