So...where did I leave off...oh yeah...
the part where I hugged Andy (side hug, the guy had MASSIVE morning wood...also, he sleeps with his door open so I was able to watch him peacefully sleep for about 10-15 minutes before take off, hope that's not creepy)...then we determined a morse code/sonar combination to alert him whether or not I'd need his ice scraper from his car parked outside. It's been a while since I've driven in snow...but I knew that 3 inches of that yayo coco on the windshield *MIGHT* inhibit my ability to see, so I gave him the thumbs up. Not to worry, I forgot to the do the rear window so I couldn't see out the back until at LEAST Virginia, even with the defroster on. No pics of the boner as I didn't bring my wide angle. Someone is going to be a lucky lady.
Headed out, turned on my music...Drake/Future...turned the bass up, and cruised...driving in the snow is as I remember...I was alone on the road, and I made full use of traction control off and slaloming down the road.
Saw my first photo OP...fuck yes...when will I ever have this blue ball beauty in snow?!?! Probably not soon, so I stopped.

not bad, made excellent time. Around 830 or so, I got hungry and of course took advantage of the fact that I was on a road trip to eat my favorite shitty breakfast. Egg Mcmuffin...gassed up...and stopped for a few more photos. I also realized that I was probably very near where Chad lived and took that opportunity to not text the number I was told to delete because I honestly did not want to make out, or give him the opportunity to beg me to blow me or to key his car.

Onward, HOOOOOOO...
I did realize that although the first leg of the trip to Penguinland AKA North Carolinacmonandraiseup was the shorter of the two...it would take me forever if I kept stopping every 30 minutes to diddle my little dick. So I hit it and I hit it hard...
Next stop was...West Virginia where I promptly put my radar dicktecktor back up (fuck you VA, thank you Johnny!!!) and pressed on. I noticed the landscape changing...it snowed, but nothing was sticking on the ground...figured it was my last snowy landscape opportunity!

I was hungry, but knowing that penguins are great hosts and probably would want to eat every 2 hours to keep the fat to stay warm...I decided to just buy a snack to get me through
grabbed another tank o' cheap gas
Not bad for 300HP
and then, I got to T's house.
After much excitement and a couple of beers...Tyler and Alex (SU) head out for BBQ. I handed them both the keys and they both said the car felt fun and solid. Just needed a little TLC.

Damn guy was kind enough to kick wifey's car out for mine...I love you bro...and Mitz...she's very understanding and has a HUGE fucking heart. Very nice convo for 2 hours before bed!

This... this right here.
Imagine your car this dirty, every single day for about a week in early December. It's too cold to wash it, but after a week it bugs you enough to wash it in the cold.
You're so proud of your clean car while everyone else drives around in their dirty salt-covered cars. Your car is the only one with any kind of gloss and you feel like a hero. Snow reflects off your paint and the fact that all other cars on the road are so dirty makes your car stand out even more.
People should emulate you. You take such good care of your cars. Look at it, all clean and shit. There should be a prize for being such a good vehicle owner.
The next morning, you drive to work. You park, and look back at your clean ca- Wait WTF I JUST WASHED IT YESTERDAY! Now look how dirty it is!
DSC_2157 by rock star, on Flickr
This is the snowbelt for approximately 4 months out of the year 6 months if you're made of twigs and have an odd robot fetish.
Don't ask people why they live up here. I don't know why I live up here. It's cold as hell.
BRB out to wash my car.

Thank you, man...
I fly under the radar!
I knew what car I'd replace my TL with! Hahaha...well, I don't regret it one bit...needs a little love here and there, but in the end, I know I'll be very happy about the upgrade!

I noticed the plates... Does FL let you transfer from car to car or were you just being a naughty boy and running ill eagle swapped plates?

Wow congrats man! Hopefully I can see it at the next meet, whenever that is.
It's amazing that a nearly 10-year-old car can elicit such a reaction from you as if it were a new car.

About the plate, I took my black TL plate up along with bill of sale and loan documents. I was assured by the bank that it would be perfectly legal to drive it down with said docs.
About what's transferring, well...I don't want to totally bastardize my black one...I swapped suspensions already...I put the 8.5" aspec that Justin had on the blue TL on the black one...they were refinished by Predatorbird but I like the OEM finish on mine better. I need to swap to all seasons and pull the TPMS out since I'll need em. Advan, I keep...
Black TL will remain pretty much the same visually...
custom black grill and interior pieces...
lowered on koni yellow/H&R sport
Aspec wheels
RV6 TD exhaust...and eshift procat high flow cats and oem jpipe with eshift high flow 3rd cat...
I'm not openly listing/marketing it yet until I am certain it's going and it's final state.

You should buy some base wheels so you can keep the A Specs..
it'd be a shame to sell a perfectly good set of 8.5's
at this point i'd buy em from you i'm getting really lazy to go and refinish mine..

I did, and I will!
Johnny...I currently have 2 sets of 8.5's...one is stock finish and repaired curbing kinda...the other is curbing and spray painted...and a set of 17" waffles...
and of course, my Advan.
I loved driving in the snow! Car is clean now...outside and engine bay, still missing the interior, which I'll tackle very soon.

I love racks!
I told you over the phone, Justin made me an offer I couldn't turn down. I had always been (bi-)curious about roof racks rather than the trailer hitch method...and this was my best opportunity to give them a try. I also snagged some bike attachments...older models but I confirmed with Thule that they'd work with the rack and my mountain bike. $100 shipped for 2!
Anyway...got up real early like and hit the road at 550AM.
here's a picture I missed posting earlier of Tyler, Alex and I...Thuggish Ruggish, I normally call us. :gheyhug:
and awayyyy we go...
looking tired AF! Tyler also leaves his bedroom door open, which is both interesting and fun. I had actually never seen penguin mating in the wild before. Can't unsee it. They must have a kangaroo pouch because you wouldn't think they'd be packing like that. After him AND Andy, I started to get the impression that tiny peen syndrome was only relegated to Florida. Oh well!
Bye TYLER! I get a text "oh you taking long to leave cause you miss me already"...I was like, naw player, didn't wanna flush inside and wake you and the missus so I am peeing at the end of your driveway in 16 degree weather. Brrrr...we ICEYYYYYY
Honestly...the remainder of my trip was mostly GA/FL...and 10 hours at that. I made the time I said I would...I add 2 hours to whatever WAZE says for stopping for pics, flogging of the dolphin (one in each state!) and using bathroom. The scenery started looking a LOT like FL as is so I really didn't take many pictures. And, as the coolest wife ever was home waiting with our 3 month old ALONE after her vaccines and 3 days without me...I didn't want to pussyfoot any longer than I had to and get home to her. What a girl...got home, she didn't rush me, she pretended to care about the car, she took care of the baby because "I was tired after all that driving"...
Anyway...here was one stop
DSC_2230 by rock star, on Flickr
and now the journey really begins...

I was referring to tire racks for all your damn extra wheels
But yes roof rack too... I'm really close to jumping on quana's set.. Or take taco's advice, stop buying shit for the TL and invest in something else...

So then that Monday, when I got home from work, the madness began. Sprayed down the salt...then jacked the car off (up) and go the salt out from under it. Then washed and waxed it.
de-vinyl'd the front grill...really thought about paint matching but Chip/Betty and a few others did share they thought it would look overdone. For now, I'll keep things simple and cost effective.
treated the rubbers
removed the mirror vinyl
and threw a coat of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0
and then it became very clear that I'd made the right decision...the color is intoxicating to look at.
Not very swirled either!
and of course, couple of shots with the DSLR to document progress. Threw the type S wheels on too since the snow tires rode like shiet in hot climate.

Congrats on the new addition! I was on the fence of either KBP and CBP myself. Came across my CBP a couple months ago after 2 months of searching for a replacement to my totaled NBP TL-S. I have to admit I actually like it a lot better! You actually got me reconsidering a slight drop in the suspension after seeing these pics! Coils or springs?
