Hypocrisy!
We're never DONE...once a modder, always a modder. Only thing that slows us down is lack of knowledge or experience but after the TL, I'll likely do SOMETHING to all my future cars.

Quan, she lookin great, man. Seriously.

Thanks everyone!

J; haha I'm sure I will be putting in little upgrades here and there and I'll always be a wheel whore. But I'm damn near done as far as aesthetic mods are concerned. Still throwing around the idea of a roof spoiler though

Here are some more pics!

You're for SURE selling the Vossens if they're off. You're bored of them already, I bet.

Thanks everyone

I've actually had an NBP spoiler order on hold for a couple months now from the same vendor I bought my DGP one from a few gears ago. Quality and paint were perfect and it came from Taiwan or Hong Kong within two weeks. I was just wondering if there was anything new available as far as roof spoilers go.

If I don't see anything new I like (prefer the smaller styles instead of bigger ones) I'll likely put that order through. For 80$ painted and shipped, can't complain!

Well this week I realized it was finally hot enough to break out my cover craft sunshade

As the weather gets nicer and I wash my
Car more often I've come to see just how badly I need a proper detail. Definitely needs claybar and waxing and REALLY would benefit from a good buff. If only I had the skills...

Maybe this weekend I'll at least claybar and wax it since I can do that myself.

so those 8.5's look lighter in color than traditional gunmetal.....is it just the camera playing tricks on me or did I miss something in this thread?

Camera tricks indeed! They are the stock color

Funny coincidence though, my buddy had a blowout this weekend and decided to pick up a new set of wheels; another set of 18x8.5's from EarlThePearl. Those actually have been powdercoated a lighter silver; closer to "sparkle silver"

Its different but my buddy is happy. Here's a shot but unfortunately you can't see the difference

His are spaced with 15mm front and 20mm rear too.

Yeah definitely. We did his headlights a year ago and kept the amber. Just blacked out the housing and reinstalled them. We also did a headlight treatment but after a year they've become hazy.

That 04 silver TL has been a project since he bought it Feb of 2012 with 184k miles. It now has 195k. It's at that point now where it needed a lot of work and he was debating on keeping it or upgrading to something else, maybe even a type-s

At this point he decided to keep it and we are about to go all out and fix everything. New power steering pump, oxygen sensor, full timing belt kit (gates), plugs, aspec suspension or Tein SA (still deciding) and new brakes probably. It's gonna be a reliable beast for years to come. Also throwing in a CT short shifter and we already did the GM fluid in the trans...felt like new.

We already replaced a bunch of things too as far as maintenance and even swapped out the whole sunroof assembly. Added front and rear aspec and rear tails as well as door handle RL LEDs and stuff like that. There are pics scattered about this thread

Holy wheel gap Batman!!! Reminds me of my first years before this website downloaded a nasty virus into my wallet.

I actually like both colors might even like the silver ones better, especially with NBP.

Maybe you guys can swap for a couple pics to help me decide if i like silver 8.5s on NBP enough to refinish mine.

Haha!

Well I was up late last night and decided to go ahead and buy some new tires and a few other things I will officially be keeping the vossens and 18x8.5 aspecs. I'm pretty sure I will end up selling my stock waffles and putting the money into these two sets

No way, I love the 8.5's finish any day of the week. They look awesome.

wetsand/buff as normal. Then apply 1:1 of spar high gloss urethane and mineral spirits with a glove and blue shop towel.

Thanks for the formula J; we may give it a shot this weekend!

Well I picked up some new parts on Sunday... Pretty exciting. Some for me some for my buddy's car. Also put on a little more real Cf.

The ATLP jpipe and AEM V2 will be for my buddy's 04 6mt.

The HFPC's will likely be for me I also picked up two new rears for the vossens on eBay. 2550/30/19

And I ran across this 3m Paint Protection kit. It's basically clear plastidip and creates a clear bra.

Definitely can't wait to Put it on. should be much better then painters tape! Getting the car buffed soon and will be putting it on

You something funny, Quan, I saw this stuff on a commercial. I'd be VERY curious to know how glossy it ends up, if it dries flat...and MOST importantly, how it stands up to UV.

If you have any extra, would you mind trying to do the wetsand/buff/polish on your buddy's lights and then just do a few coats of this stuff to see how long it'll hold up and whether or not it eventually turns yellowish too.

Thanks, man.

Yeah, J, I saw a commercial as well and almost bought it on amazon. Then I realized I could get it at Autozone locally so I went for it.

They had a deal for a can of the spray (all you really need) for 25$. But if you buy the application kit and the spray can holder tool for about 15 extra, you get 20$ off.

So I bought all three things plus an extra can of the spray. Hopefully it should be enough for half my hood and bumper. I did some research online and I think it'll come out nice
