Figured I'd quote the pic so its on this page as well.

Not a whole lot to report lately. Had a busy weekend and week so far and havent gotten a chance to put on the RDX calipers yet. Bought some hi-temp clear so I will probably go over the brembos and the rdx covers with it this weekend and it will be done!!

Also my puddle lights have been in for a while and are just waiting to be installed with my sideskirts so I'm hoping to tackle that this weekend along with re-wiring my footwell lighting to the dome supervisor switch.

Only thing I've done recently is added my subwoofer in the trunk. Nothing too special, just 1 sony xplode I got for free with a kenwood amp wired to an LOC. Just a little junk in my trunk

Really wish I had the uncald4 enclosure that Glenn recently got

After those two little projects I'm pretty sure I'll be done modding for a while. Its really been tough on the wallet lol and since I lost my iphone 5 last weekend and had to buy a new phone for frikken $600, my modding budget took a big hit lol.

I did however buy a couple things on amazon (have a 1 month free trial for amazon prime, free 2 day shipping). Just got a new air filter and a Dorman EZ drain plug. for 10$ I figured it was worth a shot. Plus when I first bought the type-s I noticed the oil drain plug was INSANELY tight, I mean the mofo had me kicking and screaming. Read the service records and realized the pan had been stripped and the dealer installed a helicoil. Lately I've been tightening it without too much force (not really used to helicoil and don't want to strip that too) and the other day I noticed a leak; thought it might just be dirty from when I changed the oil last (even though I always clean things up under there) and when I checked it again there was more oil residue. Now I can't be wasting that Mobil-1 5w-20 EP; so I figure I'll tighten this EZ drain valve with a new washer and hopefully that will be the end of my dilemma...Oh the joys of a "Dealer maintained car"

Here it is on amazon if anyone is interested. Searched here on Azine about it and Love My TL-S said he had great experience and the build quality was excellent after 10k miles.

They certainly do. What did you do final sand with on the rdx covers?! Looks like it's still showing the sanding marks.

Overall, great progress, Quan.

just a FYI, I had the Dorman EZ Drain Valve, but ended up taking it off. It installs fine and no leaks, but after doing one oil change with it, it wouldn't stop dripping. I left it for a couple hours, but it was still dripping so I took it off and reinstalled the stock bolt, lost maybe half a quart of oil from this, not a big deal. I instead bought the Fumoto Drain Valve and have done multiple oil changes, no issues with dripping at all.

i kinda like it like that, gives it that brushed look. but yea he should/could have went over it with like 2000/3000 grit to smooth it out.

Well, Lemme explain. haha

I went over the Brembos with a wire brush on a drill and it did a pretty good job sanding down the paint and everything. I hate sanding by hand (call me impatient, lol) and it left some gouches and swirly marks around the caliper. I decided to paint it anyway and I actually really like to texture so I decided to leave it

As for the RDX covers, I sanded them with 600 grit sandpaper; but I think the marks that are visible are due to the fact that I used the paint brush kit, not an aerosol kit. I usually prefer the brush kit because its less messy, no overspray, less taping and all that

Thanks! I will be going a littttttle lower real soon but I still three-wheel going in and out of my driveway so its really close to that level where it becomes way too inconvenient!

I had heard of the Fumoto valve and looked into it in the past, but I read that it required a sort of adapter or extension and it just became too much work and effort for me... The Dorman was an impulse buy but maybe I'll revisit the Fumoto in the future if it doesn't work out

Gotcha, doesn't look bad.
Was curious because first time I sanded down the Brembo's I used like fkn 80 grit or 150 and BOY did I leave scratch marks! Ha ha...

Either way, awesome progress.

You may have been looking at the valve with a nipple built in. I couldn't run that due to clearance issues on the FR-S, so I got the normal (shorter) version. It comes with a new crush washer too.

Clearance was what I was always worried about with that valve...for something I only do once every 3 months, I don't mind the bolt.

Well the drain bolt points parallel to the ground, so no matter how big the quick-drain plugs are, you aren't losing any vertical ground clearance.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I did some research and I do like the fumoto as well but since I already bought the doorman I figure ill at least try it out for only 10$!

Not a whole lot of new progress to report lately. Been super busy with finals this week and next but I'm hoping ill finally get some time soon to finish off the aspec by installing the side skirts. Who knows.

Also I should have my new headlights (JNC) and tail lights (Bruce) by next weekend

In other news. I just installed my rear caliper covers finally...

Here's some pics of both to hold you guys over

Thanks so much everyone!

I had a decent weekend and was productive with the car. Finally got the aspec side skirts and puddle lights and footwell lighting wired up to come on with the key fob lock/unlock as well as opening and closing the door. Both fade off with the dome lights lol. Nothing new as most of us have seen the DIY in the 3G a garage but I figured I'd take some pics along the way. I did the same process on my old 04 DGP.

Fresh aspec side skirts unwrapped

Holes drilled

Lights installed. I plastidipped the chrome ring around them to avoid halo-info affects I heard about.

I don't have a pic of them all taped and ziptied down but this is basically how the wiring went.

Testing!

Type-S in the air

Puddle lights from underneath

Finished product

Some of you may remember my old set up

LOL thanks everyone; I know it's one of those mods that really stands out and that isn't for everyone; but I really like them

I got them from Ledmod.com. They cost about 50$ for the whole kit. The wiring is pretty thin but it all comes with hardware and quick connects. I switched to 18ga wire for routing it through the car though. It can all be done in a few hours; it just takes a bit of time measuring and drilling carefully

Looking at my car today trying to decide if I should get a roof spoiler or not? If so it would probably be the eBay ones for ~$80 painted and shipped.

What do you guys think?
