Had a decent but busy weekend. Finally got around to having my timing belt and water pump replaced. Got a friend at the Acura dealer who was able to do the work for me. He said I was really lucky because the tensioner was leaking bad and could have lead to the timing belt jumping teeth eventually. Sucks!

He replaced the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and the drive belts with OEM. I'm pretty happy; It cost me a little less than Hamilton Honda and I didn't have to drive all the way up there. All thats left maintenance wise is swapping the MT fluid, PS fluid, Brake fluid. Also throwing on new axles and replacing spark plugs but that stuff can wait a bit.

Still waiting on swapping in a bunch of mods, we shall see what I can do this week although my classes are starting back up for the Spring.

Ouch! That sucks to hear. I did some research here on the forum and read a couple threads where people were pretty happy with them. 300$ for the pair isnt too bad, but I think I got both of mine for 111$ or so and picked them up locally...Advance Auto has awesome coupon codes. I'll give them a try since I already have them, apparently they come with a warranty...who knows!

Wow, you were lucky on the tensioner. It's good to have friends at Acura.

Its been sooo long I went to the dealership, that I really dont know anyone there LOL....but i do know someone who has a lot of pull at the dealership ....right Steven

Q, 1 thing I have realized with this car (probably applies to all cars) is that, it will tell you something is wrong, she will squeak and squeal and give you some hints....if you get her fixed right away, she will take care of u....wont break down on you....now if you ignore her for long enough, you will come back saying "i hate this car....another thing broke on her"....

Hey, great to hear, Quan on the TB. And about the axles...who knows?!?! Maybe these will be great!

Also, for all your fluid changes...(add the slave to master clutch fluid swap too!).

Thanks for the heads up J,

Sounds like an awesome tool! I think some of the fluids had been replaced recently I just have to check the service records I have for the car and make sure.

I may go ahead and swap them ALL anyways with something OEM or better...I'm anal like that lol.

In other news, I got my Domed Decal this weekend I'm excited to put it on but the car is filthy and we just got hit with a ridiculous cold wave (like 20 degrees today) and I'm back in school for the spring semester

Awesome, can't wait to see how it looks!
Your'e welcome man...well, if you're anal and often swap fluids...then trust me, this thing is the bomb. I had the other type that forces the fluid in from the master, but it sucked, would leak and spill. This thing is clean and gets the job done in like 20 minutes with NOBODY else helping.

Busy weekend! Picked up a couple Lexus's and got a new tv. Haven't had time or the balls to do anything to the type-s this weekend. It's been consistently 20 degrees

LOL...I had a similar issue trying to get a TV home.
But don't have that problem anymore!

John, I actually did, bud...and if my car hadn't been on an incline, it would have gotten all of it out without an issue. Great option...although since we still spill oil everywhere...I might as well just jack it up.

J.

Well the weather was real nice today so when I had some time before the sun went down the Type-S got some love.

Swapped transmission fluid out for the GM synchromesh stuff and installed Heeltoe's Hybrid Racing bushings. Overall not too hard once you remove the air box out of the way. Haven't got a chance to take the car for a spin just yet but ill let you knows know tomorrow

Haha it's all good man! I'm free every evening this week except Thursday

Took the car for a spin today and I'm really happy with the results. Not sure how much of the differences I can attribute to the bushings vs the GM Synchromesh, But I can say its been easier and felt better shifting

Heeltoe's site says:

"Shifter cable bushings are a cost-effective, simple way to add that notchy, crisp feel that you associate with a solid feeling shifter.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that all shifter cable bushings are created equal. Many companies make the mistake of assuming both bushings used in the k-series shifter cables can be replaced with solid metal or delrin bushing. This is not the case. Honda uses rubber bushings in their cables because it’s a cost-effective way to allow 2-degrees of freedom. A solid metal or delrin bushing allows only 1-degree of freedom. Generally speaking, eliminating a degree of freedom in the bushings translates into more effort required to shift and the potential to bend and ruin your shifter cables.

That’s why the Hybrid Racing incorporates a chrome-plated steel spherical bearing into their shifter bushings. This gives the crisp, notchy feel you expect from shifter bushings without the extra effort required to shift, like other brands of bushings."

Honestly, I only got them because they came in the kit with a short shifter and nice maven weighted knob, all for $159.99

I agree. Q, I think a Swift hide-away plate frame would be perfect for you if you don't want to do the OEM plate mount.

the plate itself is fine....but function over form, seems like it will block a ton of light while you are driving

also personally, I think it will flow better in the OEM location....

have you tried customizing the mount and trying to move the plate a tad bit lower?

Anil, the plate seems to be in between the headlight and fog, shouldn't be blocking any light whatsoever.

Yup! The plate doesn't block anything; any higher or any lower and it would though

I'm just waiting for a nice day so I can wash the damn thing and install my Domed Decal

Then maybe the plate location will be more appreciated haha

Hey, I don't hate, man...I congratulate!
Looks like you picked a matte graphite finish. I look forward to seeing what you picked, you SOB.

Don't you just have to have a plate that's VISIBLE from the front of the car!?!? Don't they make like a tri mount suction cup bracket to just put the plate in the upper right hand side of the windshield?

in for updates !!! Gotta love the full Vossen line up....eager to see which one you got...

also Q, my final comment on the license plate:
I think its too up and a little to the left (when looking at the car) and a tad bit too "out"....Here is the plate done right IMO:

YES ladies and gentlemen, Vossens are the newest addition to my wheel whoring adventures!

Picked them up last night, but unfortunately I won't be throwing them on for a while. I will probably wait until the coilovers are installed and everything unless I feel particularly anxious one day and the weather is nice. I'm hoping in the next week or so I will get the coils put in (when Glenn has some time ) and I shall have some pics for you all

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Swoosh I actually may take you up on that advice. I got the mount and have been using the same location since I first put it on the DGP. I guess I may as well take advantage of all it's adjustability

J; I've heard of people doing that in other states and have gotten by with it. Here in Va If its not on the front bumper, you'll get pulled over. Glenn of course is a lucky SOB and has had his in his windshield forever and hasn't been bothered. But then again his car is a garage queen and he drives 3 miles to work
