I was thinking that too...looks to be almost in front of the headlight. Also, your TL looks cold!

Toronto definitely haha. I was told it snowed shortly after I left town back home and then it snowed the day after I got here to Toronto. It's been snowing basically everyday, but luckily drivers here are accustomed to it and are more comfortable. Also most people have snow tires which helps a lot too.

Unfortunately if we had conditions like this in VA, I would be too scared to take my car out haha. Too many bad drivers.

I've been slipping and sliding around Toronto the last few days in the nasty slush, non stop VSA and ABS. Had a few close calls too

As for the license plate, it doesn't block the headlight, I guess the angle made it look like that. It's basically as close to perfect as can be; any higher and it would block The headlight and any lower it would block the fog light

Congrats on the new ride man! You still in Toronto? If you're coming down I-81 to get back to VA, give me a shout and we'll grab a drink. I'm a little south of Syracuse, right off the interstate. Photo op!!

John...if you were very local to me. I'd drive to the end of the world to meet up with you to have a mini shoot and grab a beer. You're in my top 2 favorite members on this site and I'm one of the 2.

Quan...I bet you don't regret your decision to purchase this car one bit. She sexy, huh?

Oh man! I would have loved to! I actually got hit with the flu last week which is why my trip got extended to two weeks instead of one haha. I finally felt better yesterday and we hit the road at 9:30pm. We went through Buffalo and ended up on I90 and eventually I79 which seem like a good ways west of Syracuse, no? Ended up making it home in exactly 8.5 hours with two stops for gas!

Appreciate the offer! Hopefully I'll be seeing you and the TL this weekend instead!

J, you know it! The ride was great; just gotta get on top of a bunch if maintenance ASAP now. All fluids, tb/wp, and gonna try some GMSFM fluid for the tranny. I get the pop-out once Ina while and sometimes have trouble catching gears; PITA!

dude, my honest advice to improve your love for driving that car:

1) ct short shift kit
2) nice weighted shift knob (I have the tall thin mishimoto one pictured below)
3) GM syncromesh friction modified fluid
4) slave cylinder checkvalve removal

The car is an ABSOLUTE Pleasure to drive. Very precise and smooth.

Thanks for the info J!

are you currently running the GM stuff? I've been lazy but after changing my oil tonight I realized I need to get off my ass and handle my shit better. Gonna call some dealers tomorrow and hopefully pick some of that GM stuff up. 4 qts at least right?

As for short shifter and whatnot, I'm still debating on it; I kind of want to drive one before I bite the bullet and buy the parts. Luckily I have a fellow Aziner friend here who promised he'd let me take his 04 SSM for a spin with his Maven machined knob and CT shifter kit.

LOTS planned for tomorrow night; hopefully gonna visit SICKTLS and get the last of the major mods off of the DGP! stay tuned for pics of that.

Glenn? Tell him I say WADDUP DOE!

Well, honestly, I don't recall what it felt like before. But I do remember that when I did it, I was able to shift without taking my elbow off the armrest, which made me happy. Much shorter throw, and a much less vague feeling when going into gear.

I do have the GM stuff...I did a 1x3 with the newer Acura fluid and then 2 months later, switched to GM. Friction Modified, make sure it's that one and for manual tranny. You'll need 3 and I'm not sure of cost. You'll notice how smoothly it shifts immediately. That swap would only take you about 20 minutes...

Sorry for the late reply everyone!

Had a good time on Friday hanging out with Glenn, he did an awesome job removing the Teins and the PCDs from the ol' DGP. Thanks again for your help dude and sorry for the problems my car caused! haha

No new pics yet; been on a crazy schedule of sleeping all day and being up all night (hence the 5am post time lol). The DGP feels and looks really weird with no spacers and being up so high these days, its awkward haha. Meanwhile the list of parts waiting to go on the Type-s is growing. Jpipe, Aspec kit (sides and rear), Tein SA coils, subwoofer, USA SPEC kit and probably the Volks...man!

I sold my PCDs and finally got some money to play with for the Type-S. Already ordered some switchbacks and a Domed Decal (thanks SB!). I'm fighting myself on figuring out what else to pick up. Got about 250$ to spend!

Practical: Axles from Advance Auto for around $100. I feel like I need them since I get some clicking when I start my car in the morning (cold). ALso could use the money for some GM Synchromesh and/or new plugs and timing belt parts...although I had some money saved up for that already!

Impractical: Puddle lights (50$), new tint (its scratched and hella dark at 20%), tail light mods, short shifter...

Any other suggestions are welcome

(pics coming soon of both cars!)

Well. I went with a little practical and a little impractical.

Picked up a set of axles from Advance Auto along with a set of spark plugs. Then went and got some GMSMFM from the local Chevy dealer. Also went with Heeltoe's "stage 1" transmission mod which includes a weighted Stainles Maven shift knob, new bushings and CT short shifter.

Can't wait to get it all installed! Met up with member AkPlaya92 the other day and took his 6MT for a spin with short shifter maven knob and bushings and it was awesome...driving my car after I felt like I was driving a manual truck or Jeep with such long throws between shifts.

Also might be getting my tb/wp installed this weekend if I can get parts in time!

Wait, you're doing the TB yourself? Come down to warm Florida, man. I'll have a shocktop waiting for you!

COOL! I did the weighted thing, but part of the reason I went with such a tall shift knob (well, 2 reasons) are for the added leverage since it's so precise to get into gear with the short shift kit AND my coffee mug is super tall. Thanks for that design flaw for us MT guys, Acura! Putting the fkn cup holders between your elbow and your shifter. I also, haven't opted for the solid bushings for the shifter, I guess I've always felt like the short shifter made it stiff and precise enough, but I'd be curious to hear your review of it!

Congrats, buddy. And good thinking, leave the tint for now...that's something that is still doing it's job and probably isn't very noticeable. I have a bubble in my rear one that I put in it when I had the weathertech visors (dohhh!) but since i always either roll windows DOWN or all the way up, you never see it.

Glenn, install that sway bar, it's easy and then you can really go to town to give those tires a proper burial.

ya you will absolutely love the CT short shifter and when I added my maven counter sunk shift knob it made it ten times better believe it or not. I have the Gm syncro in mine too and you can really tell a difference with that too. those mods together make the car so much more fun to drive rockstar described it perfectly. I cant wait to get mine back into decent shape after having to rip my suspension and wheels off this fall because of my dumb ass road being tore up beyond belief. fuck function and form suspension by the way....does not hold up at all I am the third person I know with a TL that has blown shocks within a year.

I went through 2 sets of axles from advance and had nothing but problems with vibrations. I then went with oem axles and couldn't be happier. Maybe you will have better luck with them...

I didn't want to say anything but I was thinking the same thing about sticking with OEM axles. If the guy at the parts place is nice, or you have a friend that gets Acura parts near cost, the Axles will cost you about $150 each side FROM the dealer.
