I am going to Parents house from Boston,
It's at 3am so going like around 80mph, this idiot is following me but also changing lanes at back. Doesn't pass me even when I slowed down to 65mph
As I said before, I don't like to floor it if he is not in front.
Anyways I got sick of his headlights and floored it to 105 mph, and he passes me like one car gap, which I wanted.

Floored it again and after I was about to pass him he floored it too. We came to 115 he was passing me slowly but still no gap between the cars (side by side)
@ 120 he slowed down I still went on to 135 at least, I am positive, it sat right on the line 135

Just searched and I belive limitter is at 152mph

anyways....

I am back from Niagara falls. We took the MDX and FX.

I think that was the problem for water going inside the trunk.
That plastic was on top of the headlights black surface... tucked it in and no more water thanks guys haha



My left license plate bulbs is sometimes on sometimes off
I open the trunk, it turns on, I close it, it turns off
Sometimes it's the other way around
Played with the cable moved it around and still no exact answer
This was happening before I replaced my bulbs to board too.

Will probably wire it to the other bulb

Depends on the state and cop. Anything over 80mph or 20mph over the speed limit in VA is reckless.

In my experience, anything over 100 will get you arrested unless the cop is nice.

It was in glove box, I wasn't keeping it mounted in front of the left side mirror to capture the gauges but I don't car now, will move it and keep it at the windshield from now on.

Because on the way to Boston last night, I had another run wih a 335.. but video didn't come to my mind

 

On the way back at I-90 masspike 55mph
there was a black 335 with 2 people in it, tinted windows, black rims and red painted mirrors, not sure what year the car is but had the white license plate bulbs

My friend Kaan was driving (not the owner of that yellow 528)
It's a 3 lane road, we are on the left lane going 75, he is at back of us on the middle lane

He floored it and passed us, right when he was passing we followed him
and with AT, 75mph is a nice spot for 3rd gear for VTEC to kick in
we went up to 120ish but we were passing him, I don't know how

We even made him hit the brakes.
We slowed down to 80ish, he passed us but staying at right front cross of my car, a corolla came in front of him in the middle lane, well the only another car at they highway but we have at least 200 feet to corolla.

He floored it so that he was going to pass in front of us to left lane.
Another 3rd gear and VTEC, I swear we were passing him again and since he didn't have the gap he hit the brakes
^not smart enough to make a right and pass corolla from right..3rd lane.

But that intake was everything
I could feel it, and when it's 69F outside...party time

You keep talking about beating these 335 bimmers but don't provide proof. I find it very hard to believe that you are beating 2007+ 335 bimmers. You might have a better chance at a 2001-2006 bmw 330. Earlier you mentioned a '335ci' there's no such thing as a 335ci.

You only drive a base model AT TL dude. You make it out to be so fast beating 330hp/tq supercharged v6 audi s5 or 300hp/tq twin-turbo v6 bmws.

Do you know how much a base AT TL dynos in at? Around 210WHP. Do you know how much a 335i bone stock dynos at? Around 270-280 whp. Your TL makes less power, less torque, weighs more (than the bimmer), and is FWD compared to AWD/RWD of the s5/335i.

The only way I can see you beating the s5 is maybe IF his top speed limiter was limited to 120mph, but i doubt that.

Your base AT is a 15 second car at best and you're talking about beating cars that trap over 100mph and run low-mid 13's. I lol'd.

Also, why does your youtube channel have about 20 different videos of you in your TL just randomly flooring it everywhere? You really think you drive a race car huh

Meko, I doubt the TL can take a 335 (no matter the model year or the i/ci/xi/uni LOL)....but i have no doubt in what you have said....maybe the guy in the 335 didnt know how to drive or didnt shift right....

this is the reason why i kept my story of racing a 2010 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 to myself LOL....the 5.0 V8 makes 400+ horses.....my friend was driving it (rental car, YES RENTAL CAR) and we were on the highway....we ran from 50mph....I was in the top of 2nd....and in the power band (I always drive in SS mode)....he was cruising so by the time he put his foot down and the ECU changed gears and put the power down, i was gone....we ran from 50 to 110 and at 110 we prolly had 1/3 car on me....and i was very impressed with my car to keep up the the newer model Mustang....

how had he been in the right gear or driving a stick and driving it well, i bet the outcome would have been wayyyy different....

but none the less i trust you as there a multiple variables in a race....

 

An M3 has what people would refer to as a "quad exaust" even though it's only quad tips.

People refer to the TL Type-S exhaust as the "quad exhaust" even thought it's not 4 separate piping with 4 different mufflers.

People refer to the base TL as dual exhaust, once again because of the dual exhaust tips.

ATF was burning as hell, high rev shiftings
magnetic bolt had some metal pieces but not that much for an 100k car...
so it's good, another 100k more little trany!!!

Also replaced the air filter of 2.7T, spark plugs, and oil
Bimmer has some stuff too but later.

Anyone know why?

I went to the car this morning at 8.30
60F outside

Turned on the ignition, waited like 2 seconds for the beeps,
turned the key to start the car... nothing
Not even like dead battery, totally quiet
Turned it 2 more times and still same, nothing no sound or anything
All lights are perfect
at 4th try (turn key), car started normally

What the hell?

 

Could be the ignition switch.

 

Thinking it's that too
Won't be the starter since it's totally quiet right..

Looks like second gen had some problem with ingition, but can't find anything about 3rd gen.

How do I check it? Cables (because of cold)?
Let me see if it will do the same tomorrow.

 

If its intermittent it will be hard to track down the actual cause.

It could even be the cables running from the battery to the starter.

 

it could be a lot of stuff....i would get the obvious out off the way...clean the battery terminals and put some battery grease on there....check the cables etc....

if the issues doesnt come back, you are fine....if it does, you have eliminated the obvious

 

Nothing this morning... started fine

I have something wrong with battery or cables but I don't know what.
Something is also draining my battery. I leave the car alone for 2 days and battery dies.

Sometimes it starts hard but if it's 3rd day, boom total drain.
Only thing I could think of is remote starter, because I remember way before around like 2008, something was draining the battery in 2 days as well..

I have die hard. Not even 2 year old and started to umm I don't know what's it called... corrosion? Not the positive cable though, negaitive.

In 6 years, I replaced my positive cables once because of corrosion..oxidation whatever

 

^^^ man i have no idea about that....my stock battery lasted me a good 5+ years without an issue....and my braille is doing perfectly fine....

the cold gets to the braille so it has problems starting when the weather is sub 50's early in the morning but other than that, zero issues....cant expect more from a 11lb battery
