yeah about ice, i scraped my sideskirt, and it left a nice gouge...
it was at my school parking lot but this is why it happened:
If snow is shoveled like this, its all good...
Notice straight wall. you know you're not gonna get in contact with anything unless you dumb and drive into the wall.
Now if you don't shovel like that you get a sloped wall like this: (left side of driveway)
My sideskirt scraped while I was turning on the "sloped wall" that turned into ice because i thought I had a lot of distance from my car to the building. little did i know there was a slope of ice that extended far out, much like the picture above.
now to think of it, that bit of snow on the right side of the driveway entrance will turn to ice... very dangerous
and yes, i know, just gotta be careful next time

Although if I stay static I'm getting an aircup setup - No way around it unless I want to take off my bumper every time I park at work or at home lawl
Also Jeff, consider looking at wheels used off ebay, wheelflip and the stance works classifieds. You could potentially get an excellent set of wheels lightly used for the same amount as a set of 530s or something of that sort.
I'm actually looking at some Algernon Intelesse IIs or VS XXs myself right now, and you can get Intelesse IIs for under 1100 cad + shipping

Iunno, I have a long commute, I bought the car to be driven and enjoyed and we haven't gotten that much snow the past couple of winters, so if its just cold as balls, I don't really mind if she sees some salt and grime

The sites mentioned above are good but they are all private party sellers which can be tough to trust.
Id suggest threepiece.us or Vrwheels. Both buy wheels in large container shipments and will be 100% on damage as theyd love to upsell their own refurbishing services. Threepiece.us is always holding free wheel give aways on Works, Weds, BBS, etc. And they often post late night deals on IG with cheap wheel deals.
Most all wheels from threepiece.us and VR have options to rebuild be it relipping rebarreling or refinish. You can ultimately get the exact see up you need.

I dont know about Nico but Zilvia is great too. But again you are dealing with private party sellers. Id rather deal with a "company" than a private seller.
18's are a much better fit for the car, 19's are heavier, the tire will be heavier, and you'll have to run rubberbands to get close to the stock tire OD.
And dude, please, how many pages of this? BUY SOMETHING AND LIVE WITH IT.
LOL i don't just have money to blow on a setup and then it not be proper so its gotta be right from the get go...Im not well versed in the area of wheel/tire fitments. And I've thanked EVERYONE for their input. Is it monotonous? Yea sure it is, but this is what this place is for input and information

I'd still suggest checking wheel flip for some nice quality and LIGHT wheels.
Check the weight of the avant garde...I can tell you from experience that 10 extra pounds on each corner are very noticeable for gas mileage and how the feels when it accelerates.
Having had both, I also agree. 18's are the perfect size for the 3G.
Honestly, light on a budget really narrows the choice down to RPF1s
Enkei offers the RPF1 in 18x9 +35, which will be perfect - You'll be able to run a beefy tire, and not worry about rubbing, and if you want to go more aggressive, you can always do a 5 or 7 mm spacer. Personally that has my vote.
Thank You. I do really like the style of the AG's. Plus the specs of the AG's are what I'm after... Only thing is the dollar conversion and shipping are going to DESTROY me. (waiting for quote from Bruce on the AG's)
Priced out the xxr 530 today at a local shop here in town . lol can get them on fleaBay for like 300 less. This city sucks balls for aftermarket stuff. nothing but cambered out hatch back ricer kids with fart cans and jacked up Dodge Rams lol

haha yea they are super cheap!! i got mine single drilled for about 550/600. i also returned two wheels because they got chipped on shipping so i'm pretty sure the company made no money off of it haha. and then the wheels end up getting chipped from daily driving anyway...oops
yea see ontario (TO and OTT) is a lot different. theres a lot of places for that kind of stuff. Here in NB theres literally NOTHING so prices are stupid high

All authentic high quality wheels. Many forged options. None of them are crazy aggressive but for those prices you can pick up some 19in Works for only 1200. Threepiece can get/make lips for ANY wheel 200 a pop. Go 19x9.5 by converting the 1in lips into 2.5in lips.
This could be them after a good refinish and lips.

LOL i guess so Jon. Not that I don't have the coin to do it I just can justify it at this moment.
I just spent 4k two months ago to get the car painted haha
I love the VS-XX though theyre awesome looking wheels
I understand. Different strokes for different folks. I myself can justify all the prices for those wheels all day. I personally would buy whatever design I like best with specs I could live with for a year or so.
Save a little more and buy the new lips for 800. Then rebuild them yourself. It is a pretty easy step by step process. You take the hardware apart, strip the silicone, and clean any excess off. Loctite blue each new piece of hardware and put it back together. Get some good Loctite 5970 to seal the two halves and boom. The level of satisfaction you would feel is unparalleled by any other wheel purchase you will ever make. Cant wait to rebuild mine!
And honestly, your on some sweet wheels as it is. Id slowly build the perfect wheel set up while sitting pretty on the waffles you already own. Take a year or so to build a 1-off set of wheels that will break necks before they even go on the car.
