Well, against all odds, I managed to get some work done today. I have completed the gutting of the rear int and traced out my template on cardboard for the IB panel. I also managed to add a lil more OEM CF trim to the int lil by lil ~ Doin werk son!. But happy with the work I managed so far. Next, I will start cutting and fitting cutting and fitting cutting and fitting...lol, deadening and wiring.
Side Note: Its funny how much leather seats and carpet makes in weight. My rear is jacked up high enough to see the top of the rear tires instead of being tucked as they were. And the ride just feels so much different. And WOW! what loud road noise! Every rock, sand, puddle, bump...etc. BUT, on a pos. note, The exhaust sounds freaking awesome!
Now the pics of progress.

I absolutely love the carbon fiber trim pieces!
I highly suggest the Type-S shift knob for the cherry on top!

E~Z Sleezy...lol Pics have been posted. But I will take some later when I get hm from work of the console as a whole. But all I added was the CF heated seat trim and CF sliding door trim so now it matches straight through all the way up to the 2 storage compartments and shift knob.

Part I: Today I came from wk and jumped right to it. About 30-1hr in, the skies opened up and poured with lightening and thunder storms. Just as fast as they came, the storm left. More pics coming from Part II of todays work.
THE PROGRESS CONTINUES... ( Music: Da~Da~Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah)
More to come from todays progress. (Taking a break...)

Also, I am trying to cut and trim lil by lil, "Measure 2x cut once" with the ending results to a "PERFECT BAFFLE" template. Let me do all the work for you. When it is complete and has the ideal fit, whomever is interested in doing a IB I will have the TEMPLATE for you in hand. Hmmmmmm

LMAO... funny thing is, True Story! It does sound good right about now...lol
Well, here it is boys and girls...
PART III:
Going back out to trim the top edges for the panel to fall into the actual opening/pocket. And this will be a WRAP! Boys and girls! Literally, next will be to start wrapping it in carpet... Or I have a lil sumin sumin up my sleeve. I just don't know were to start to get my hands on this material. So as of right now, its just a thought. Black carpet will be DEFUALT.
Until then, lots of work still ahead of me. Deadening to come next.

PART IV:
For someone who has NEVER EVER EVER touched custom interior work to this degree building a audio system to the car, I feel I have made awesome progress with my lack of experience and knowledge. And it feels amazing to stand back and look at it at this moment. I really seeing this coming to life in my head now.
The hacking with the jig saw is done. Now for the final details will all be done by hand sanding to smooth everything out making room for the wrapped material and fitment to the car.
I am done for today. Time to shower, eat and play with my baby boy son. Before I go, I leave you with the final results for today.

Thank you Steve.
What!? Who doesn't like Stephen King's "IT"?
Anyways, just like the entire project, I am clueless on where and how to go about carpeting or wrapping the panel and with what material besides black carpet. I have a material in mind, but just don't know where I can get my hands on a sheet or so. I was thinking of CARBON FIBER Leather. Any help, tips or leads? I have Google'd it to see if I can find it for purchase or "How to" vids using the stuff...and NOTHING found

I would love to get my hands on that leather/vinyl carbon fiber material. I seen it on ebay for other purposes but can't find where to possibly buy a sheet. (Its not Di-Noc) It does look like CF but with leather or fake leather vinyl look. If nothing else, I will just default to black poly mat or common carpet material. < Which, I never done that before either... Fun Time Fun Times.
Either today or this weekend, I will work on massaging the flaws of the panel and cutting my recessed staggered panel for the 12 to move freely. It may not need it, but rather be safe then sorry and experience issue later when all is installed.

Here is my sheet of "FAIL" from my first attempt at the IB panel. Good thing is, it can still be used. I will sandwich them together with some wood screws and Gorilla Glue to double up on the center of the panel here the sub will be mounted so I will not only support the panel but add a recess setting for the sub allowing more space for the speaker suspension to flow freely with no possible issues.

Woke up early (8am) to go to Home Depot to gather a few things to get started on my IB projek... BUT! The wifey had different plans for me today and "IB" or anything "CAR" related was not a part of it. So on the way to walmart to get some water and coke for our NEW plans to Clearwater Beach for the day, I managed to persuade her to stop at Home Depot just so I can buy my hardware. I managed to buy my fastening bolt, nuts and washer for the panel/brace (3-4 per side, haven't decided yet) and forgot the wood screws and Gorilla Glue since I was being rushed and a small detection of a attitude from SOMEONE was starting to show...lol
