Ok, final series of updates from this push, easiest way to break it down is as follows:

COMPLETED
Dye of interior panels
Dye of carpet
Backup HID killswitch wired
DVD player switch up and running
DVD player installed
3-Way Audio switch installed (AUX-3)
Comptech STS
Shifter base bushings
Floor lighting
HFL issue resolved
INTERIOR LED CONVERSION...COMPLETE!!!

IN PROGRESS
Troubleshoot of DVD player power
Refabrication of switchpanel
Replacement of footwell lighting...current bulbs are too bright!

FUTURE WORKS
Foglight switch
Repaint of interior panels (scratch too easily, to be done in 2011)
Ultimate Pedals
Painting of door sills (impossible to find EL panels, no?)

So here are the final shots of the interior, for better or for worse...like rockstar said, I'm crushed for time, so I have to cut corners every once in awhile, FTMFL. I'll post the future plans shortly...OH, and the final shots of the conversion, as well!!!

No doubt. I am extremely pissed that the DVD player is not working properly in spite of all my efforts. I am going to be removing it all together and powering directly from the battery...I find it wholly disgusting that in 2010 we still produce products that DON'T work off the bat.

DeathMetal, for the footwell lighting, I have a real easy fix. Well only if they're leds..

I found them to be super bright when I first put mine on too. What I did was cut tiny squares of leftover taillight tint vinyl. 20% vinyl over each led bulb made them perfectly match the stock overhead leds. They look very good now, no longer ricer bright.

Yep, they are. I actually have just the BASES, which means I can interchange any type of 194 bulb...I did this incase one of the bulbs die out so I don't have to rewire everything.

Ironically, I tried what you are speaking of, the problem is that the blue (phosphorous composition) does not match...good call, though, I agree...

Parts 15-19 and 17-21
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

all parts from 04-08 are compatible. Graphite black. I've ordered an interior part took like two weeks. Dealer could get it sooner but more expensive.

Oh, nice! Hey, what did that run you, by any chance? I don't want to pay out the ass for some interior panels.

screw the carpet...look at those tails!
I guess with a dremel and a steady hand this is VERY doable.

Are you wetsanding/buffing this stuff too? Or is it pretty inconsequential since it's behind a nice shiny plastic lense anyway?

You called it about a month ago, haha! Since it's behind a lens, I don't see the need to wetsand/buff.

I am going to have to go back and do the rear section by hand, I purchased some 3M Perfect-it II and Imperial glaze...gonna have some sore shoulders as I will be polishing by hand.

Hand polishing is for the birds!
Lol...but shouldn't be too bad hopefully. No local friends that may have a PC and some good product? It would take all of 5 minutes to polish it ALL up.

And yes, I called it cause as I was guessing what you were doing, it made sense with the direction you were going in AND I thought it would look great. I can't wait to see a shot of your ass once you get the tails and on with the exhaust and the license area.

I wish. Do you think a pneumatic DA would work for this?

a pneumatic DA SHOULD do the trick...if I understand correctly, the pad and product will make a bigger impact than the machine driving it.

Assuming you know how to use it to begin with, of course.

Can't wait to see on Sunday. Your updates are the bomb.

04Komodo AND DM...
have you tried tightening down your cables for your ebrake?
I used to pull all the way up and could still move the car if I pushed.

When you take up the rear portion of your center console (say, to access radio etc), there's a 14 or 17 MM nut you can tighten that will get your ebrake back to the right tension.

Alright, quick update. The FINAL portion of the rear will include a custom grille...

...mounted in the rear over the faux OE grille. THIS is the part I'm really excited to see. Preparation is as follows: strip, self-etching primer, primer, paint. The stripper didn't do shit, so I am really hoping the primer sticks...otherwise I am going to have to get the entire thing sandblasted, which I don't mind having done, but I don't know when the hell I will get it done. Let's hope it works as is.

Tonight I also revisited the switchpanel...the one I have now is ASS UGLY, so, while there's never enough time to do it right, there's always enough time to do it over, no? This time were going HARDCORE. I want something to match the silver trim of the interior, so after some minor metal working, we're left with a far superior model.

Ok, let's hope the paint stuck to the grille, more tomorrow or Sat

Yep, nothing like Chinese-grade cow hides for long-term resistance against foreign matter...even WITH routine cleanings. No intentions of replacing anytime soon, maybe in 2012. Maybe.

I have to repair the driver side e-brake shoe self adjuster...I f00ked mine up while doing the brakes.

Happy Memorial Day, AZiners! I hope everyone made the best of the weekend, it was quite hot here, but with precious little rain that has left me with ample time to get to modding! So I managed to make some EXCELLENT progress this weekend, with the rear end nearly completed...AND the interior to boot. Just a few small odds and ends to wrap up before I move on to the front end.

So, I finally got the DVD player working, which meant it was time to button everything up...please excuse the messy car, I've been busy with work and modding (although I will bet only some 20% of you will even read this portion, haha)

So, here's a shot of the switchpanel....

A little closer up. Controls are as follows:
(1) Tailgater killswitch
(2) Floor lights
(3) DVD Video
(4) 3-Way audio swtich (Open, DVD, 3,5mm Jack)

And the whole kit-and-kaboodle

I also complete the rear end, FINALLY, so that's good to go as well...well, almost. I really want/need to go back and polish out the rear panel, I was hoping my 3M products arrived, but lo, no such luck.

Hopefully some more progress this week, and some more pics tonight after sun-down of the DVD player in action. Enjoy!
