Thanks for the outpouring of support, all. This is indeed the reason I've been MIA for the past few months, with all of my time being devoted towards preparing the home for the newest addition to the family!
I'll be dipping in and out here and there, but there's still some TL modding that I'm looking forward to in the spring, which will be based around front end work and a thorough write up involving Leatheriqe Application to some VERY worn seats.
No plans on a Recaro in the TL anytime soon, we take the wife's car everywhere...I'm not going to lie, I could have a triggered nuclear warhead in my back seat and I'd still probably WOT a 20mph turn at 50mph...the car is my release when I'm running bleary eyed from late night feedings and need a pick me up!

What's going on, my A'Zine family? It's been awhile, but thought I'd dust off the old thread and provide an update. So, all in all, things have been going relativley smooth...the little one is finally beginning to sleep through the night, we're carb cycling to cut for the summer (or as well as my slow ass metabolism will allow), and we're still playing with the TL to a minor extent.
I had the opportunity to pick up a clean, used bumper and COMPLETLEY replicated my original, and some other stuff. Some new mods....
- Swapped HT Spec IIs for A-Spec
- Swapped Conti DWS for NITTO MOTIVO
- Installed Kaixen HIDs
- Installed V.VME HIDs for fogs
- ALL fluids changed, all filters changed, new sparkies
- Changed the PS O-Ring
- ULTIMATE COOLING MOD grille
I think thanks about it...we're motoring away at 120k...time for a nice 12-hour detailing. Got MOST of the swirlies out...but I need to go to a more abrasive pad/cut in order to remove them all...which we'll do at the close of the fall. Anyway, enjoy!
It was a 15 minute window on a rainy day...did as best as I could!!! NO TOUCH UPS WERE APPLIED OTHER THAN THE FIRST IMAGE...gotta LOVE the WDP!!!

Did you wrap your headliner yourself or did you pay someone to do it?
If you wrapped it yourself, where did you get the suede fabric? How much feet or yards did you get? How much did it cost?
If you paid someone to do it, how much did it cost?
Suede headliner is something I have always been wanting to do, just not sure what approach I should take... I know how to take the A, B, and C pillars off already from previous mods but IDK about the headliner, sunroof slide, "oh-shit handles", and mirror visors though. Plus I heard the sunroof slide is a bitch and most likely won't perform normally when put back together.

DeathMetal...
Saw a thread directing me to one of your climate control posts with no link. My '08 TL has developed a climate control issue where it does not direct airflow to the floor nor to windshield on defrost. Could you direct me to the link for troubleshooting please? I am a new member. Thanks much for any help. Todd

Does anyone know what glue he used on the headliner and where he got it? Also, how it is holding up? Looked good in the last picture though.
I would as him directly, but I see he hasn't updated and might be busy with family.

Hi, all - thanks for the kind words. I lament that I am not nearly active as I used to be, but my position with my new company, my growing son, and the current 'Home Improvement Season' has left me with 0 free time for secondary hobbies (my primary hobby as of late has been focusing on dipping in to single digit bodyfat - I'm there )
For the headliner I used a 3M glue. You want to generously sprary both the back of the suede AND the headliner and allow to tack.
The grille was from customgrilles.com (I think that's it) - it's the Diamond XXL mesh.
I will try to frequent here more often, but with two major renovation DIYs over the next 3 weekends, I make no promises other than keeping it real on the DIY side.
That is blasphemy in this neck of the woods. You should know better.
I did it indoors. During the winter. When the wife wasn't home

what did u use to secure the mesh behind ur lower grills? thinking about buying something bigger from the same site to try and mimic the stock grill plastic mesh and install it in the lower grills of my type-s lower fog area. they have a flat diamond mesh that may achieve the look I'm after but I have no clue how I'm gunna attach it

OMG, that's great!
Jer, I've been stalking your thread, excellent stuff as always. I haven't posted due to the business of my schedule, so I'm just a stalker...or guardian angel...or something in between these days! Your thread is only 1 of several hundred subscriptions I keep up to date on!
Thanks!
(1) Bumper off.
(2) You'll find two little plastic nubs on your grille. This is where you want to 'hang' the sheet. Make sure the mesh is oriented as you see mine.
IMPORTANT: THE TOP OF THE MESH DOES NOT SIT FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE GRILLE! Otherwise you'll interfere with the hood latch; go one row lower from flush mount on top.
(3) From there, you'll need a 1x2 peice of wood to bend the mesh in to position
(4) You'll secure the mesh using 4 screw pointed previously used for the OE grille
Take your time...it can be a frustrating process.
What's up, Anil! Hope all is well on your end!!! I'll post some pics up once they are all done, gotta do some ballsy masonry work and a shower tile remodel this year, I'll post pics when done.
Been struggling....STRUGGLING with this car for the past 3 months...and just YESTERDAY I found the answer - my APP Sensor is shot and has been making driving miserable up until I had even TIME to find this answer. With this soon to be resolved....it's been awesome, of course. The new commute is MUCH friendlier on the TL!!!!
Thanks!
