Nice future mods list! I see you are going for performance over looks. Nothing wrong with that

Nvm on the CSL lip, it is not produced any more. I will just get a decklid instead. Anyone know who makes CF hoods for our cars?

VIS Racing does, but it isn't cheap. I also believe there was some questioning about how strong the latch is for the hood.

Ya I saw on a site that sold the VIS hood (I think VIS themselves) suggested hood pins but said they were not necessary. I will probably get them, better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't spend the coin on a CF hood if I were you. $900 is a lot of money to a high school student, and even if you're going for performance over looks, there are other places that can be spend and give you a better result for your dollar. Not to mention CF hoods won't save you that much weight, and it'll make your car attractive to thieves.

I'm not saying they're bad, but that you'd be better off spending your hard-earned money on another aspect of the car.

In all honesty cf is worthless on our cars...STock hood is pretty damn light. If I were to do anything I would cut vents into my stock hood like the s2k guys.

See, I thought CF would be lighter. I don't really thing the slits would help though, so stock hood it is.

I think I'd do it later on as one of my last mods, as an aesthetic mod, honestly. I like the hood by VIS, but I'd rather shell out $900 on several other stuff first.

If properly placed and ran they would help A LOT. The TL engine bay isnt the coolest thing in the world.

This is the exact reason I put it last, before the thing I will most likely not get.

Really clean TL dude. CF Hood would look great on the car ($900 is a lot though). I kinda like the vent idea on the stock hood though. But Im thinking put Beamer hood vents on the TL, would look sick IMO.

Meh, idk. They would have to be molded on, and it would be expensive. Hell, if I go with vents I will do something custom atleast.

There's a lot of stuff you have to consider when custom venting your hood. You need to put it somewhere it can remove excess heat from the engine bay, while not looking terribly ugly. You also need to consider the fact that water from rain and carwashing will get in there. Even small hood vents are designed and engineered by pros, it's gonna be hard to pay a shop to do it and have it come out well.

If you want to cool down your engine bay, I suggest going sharkmouth with your grille. Cheaper, safer, and better looking in some aspects.

To be honest, I really don't want hood vents at all. AMAN1 basically gave most of the reason as to why I don't want them. I saw Inaccurate's thread about cooling and the shark mouth grill, and if I feel the need to really cool down the engine, I will do that.

Well...the modding continues. I just cleared my headlights and I also recently got a switchblade key from HeelToe Auto. Here are the pictures.

I dig the switchblade. I've been saving my money up for that or an updated navi disk. How much did it cost you? And did you have them cut it?

Man, I need to get me a switchblade key. I hear they're damn expensive though, like $150? How much did it run you with shipping?

I dunno if you can give us any insight on this, but I've heard of people buying just the shell and transferring over the internals. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance, and looking good!

Probably not unless you do work to the board. As you can see different button layout and you still need to get the key cut anyway.

Well, when I bought my car, I only got one key, so my dad wanted me to get another key, and said he would pay for everything so I have no clue.

Thanks Steven. I'm paranoid that I didn't seal them very well...it is eating me alive. Although people have assured me I have.

Oh ok. But I looked around and people said you have to do this resistor thing in the trunk...

You don't have to-I put some in mine. When you asked about the switchback bulbs being "plug & play", that's what I was referring to. Without the resistors, the turn signal lights just blink faster.

Does it not match with the speed of the sidemarkers or rear? If it is too fast...then I might just get amber...

Without the resistors, the turn signals will click faster-as if the bulb were burned out.

Oh ok. I guess I will just have to do the resistor thing then. I don't want it to look bad, and I have to do it with LED's regardless.
