d-townhakuo's progress thread, update pg. 10

Well, I got my car as an early birthday/beginning of 10th grade present (if that makes sense) Anyways, when I got the car, it had some cheap lowering kit (no name brand) and these Axis Phin's that were on my cousins 3 series, and he gave them to me. They were in poor condition. As soon as I got it, I took it to the tint shop, and debadged it, except for the dealer stick which required some work, here is the car...

Then, I updated to blue dome lights on front, and blue door lights. I also added an AEM V2 CAI. Also I upgraded to Tein Basic Coilovers. By this time, I named the car Monica, here are pics...

Lastly, I added 10,000k HID's, white license plate LED's, and paint my grill to my car. Here are the pics...

eddiebeltoe 12-31-2009 06:35 AM

nice car great progress.....

rockstar143 12-31-2009 07:10 AM

I have to say...those rims look GREAT on your car.
I think you'd be better served putting the money you were gonna spend on NETZ on repairing the rims you have and then get the aspec kit.
I LOVE those rims on YOUR car...the color, shape and size. Perfect.

Nice progress man...very clean.

98JDMCL 12-31-2009 08:36 AM

I like your car....I love the Greddy Evo's

Does it sound good?

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 08:37 AM

I like 'em too. It is more practical to get new ones though. I did research and was even willing to drive to a nearby state to get them repaired, but the damage costs weren't to my liking. Also I've always liked the tune-fork-like rims. And I've wanted to try on black. I know it might not look as good to some people, it will make me happy.

Ya I love 'em too. The drone hasn't bothered me too much though.

rockstar143 12-31-2009 09:02 AM

Well you being happy is the key.
I'm sure they'll look nice...I'm just picky with wheels and actually like yours. Around here in South Florida you can get them ALL repaired for around $200 or so. That's why I thought that'd be a good option.

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 09:09 AM

Ya, also, I know one of the guys quite well at the Discount Tire I go to, and he gave me the Privat's for 75 bucks off ea. rim almost, so it was worth it.

J-STEELE 12-31-2009 10:17 AM

Hey great looking car! I see you really take good care of your car... Can't wait till you get the new rims and you said in black too? TIIIGHHT!

PEACE!

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 11:19 AM

^Thanks man!

+1 i was driving a VW Vanagon my sophomore year. It was awesome for the surf boards and friends but didnt get the ladies attention like a TL would :tomato:

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 11:54 AM

Haha, this car gets tons of attention in the school parking lot.

sT04Louis 12-31-2009 01:11 PM

Cleanest TL ive seen by someone as young as you.

Keep it that way. No one wants to see a TL covered in honda badges and type r stickers from autozone.

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 01:42 PM

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I went through the whle sticker phase for about 2 days. But they were by the manufacturers of the mods I had ony
car.

taintedplay 12-31-2009 06:17 PM

im in texas too. in dallas/lake highlands. where in texas are you?

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 06:22 PM

I'm in Plano, near the corner of Parker and Dallas Tollway. Near Plano West Senior High.

alexSU 12-31-2009 09:48 PM

I like what you've done, very clean! Keep it up, the lip kit should complete the look

Haha in 10th grade I had a Chevy Malibu lol lame :ugh:

d-townhakuzo 12-31-2009 10:42 PM

Ya the lip kit is what I really want next!

paz840 01-01-2010 09:25 AM

Nice progress for 5 months!

d-townhakuzo 01-01-2010 10:45 AM

Thanks, this car is everything to me

Steven Bell 01-01-2010 01:48 PM

D-Town, you've done some really nice work on your TL. Keep up the good work. Thanks goodness you were able to get the dealer sticker off the back!

d-townhakuzo 01-01-2010 07:44 PM

Thanks, I really tried to make it look as
good as I couldve

taintedplay 01-01-2010 09:17 PM

haha plano west? im at lakehighlands

oh and are you selling the rims?

d-townhakuzo 01-01-2010 09:41 PM

Yes. I am going to be selling the rims. Starting at 500 dollars.

Aman 01-01-2010 09:55 PM

I drove a Cavalier for a couple of months  that thing was older than me.

I've never been a fan of the GReddy exhaust for the TL, but otherwise your mods seem pretty clean. But damn, 10,000K HIDs?

d-townhakuzo 01-01-2010 10:47 PM

Yup, I like them a lot. I figured 12,000k would be too much. I really like the GReddy on my TL.

taintedplay 01-02-2010 01:36 AM

500 with tires? when your selling pm me. im def intrested

d-townhakuzo 01-02-2010 09:04 AM

No, I am keeping the tires, rims only starting at 500. Sorry :(

CLtotheTL32 01-02-2010 10:45 AM

Looking good man! I wish I had that that TL when I was 16, but then again I didn't have a beater. I had a 06 F-150 Lariat for two months until I got my 01 CL-S. I kept the CL through freshman year of college and now I have the TL!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new wheels on the car:thumbsup:

d-townhakuzo 01-02-2010 10:52 AM

Nice, although most kids down here in Texas would have kept that truck. Most people at my high school think F-150's are the best cars to ever hit the road! Thanks for the nice comments.

CLtotheTL32 01-02-2010 11:04 AM

I loved my truck but I hated the gas milage. I didn't get a truck because I thought it was the cool thing to do, but because I liked being up high in traffic. At the time I was making $6 an hour working 30 hours a week and I was struggling to make my car payment, insurance, and gas with that weak ass income.

But anyways, enough with my life story:tomato:

Be sure to update this thread with the new pictures!

d-townhakuzo 01-02-2010 11:09 AM

Definitely! I called the Discount Tire guys, and they said the rims might come in today, but will most likely come in on Monday. I go back to school on Tuesday, so I hope I will have them on my car in time for me to go back to school.

CLtotheTL32 01-02-2010 11:17 AM

I hope they come in on-time. I'm impatient when it comes to just about anything, therefore I hate when shit runs late. I'm sure they will be there though:)

d-townhakuzo 01-02-2010 11:27 AM

Haha I am just like you! I am so freaking impatient!

d-townhakuzo 01-03-2010 10:23 AM

Well, I've received some bad news, the rims won't be in until Wednesday, or Thursday the latest. :(

CLtotheTL32 01-03-2010 10:30 AM

^Ah damn I hate that!
