why not just plastidip in white? if you like the look just spray some glossifier dip on it

dont forget to do the barrel too...i dont get why people just do the outer portion.

^^^I wonder how durable it is with cleaning...also, peeling the plastidip from such a detailed rim wouldn't be fun.

I also missed which one of you mofo's volunteered to do the constant rim cleaning for me!

it isnt too durable, unfortunately. Just rubbing it moderately hard with your finger can start to peel it. But peeling to remove isnt too bad actually. If you layer it on thick enough it should pull off like saran wrap. There's a video on dipyourcar.com where the guy pulls it off an intricately spoked rim in more or less one piece. I pulled it off my TL emblem on the back fairly easily too to re-do.

so dont use plastidip as a primer lol. Why throw on more paint on top if it can be ruined fairly easily.

It would work well as a mock up though that's temporary and would look ok as long as it's not curbed..

Sean, you might be onto something....AZ needs someone to rock the boat and step outside the box from all the cookie cutter TL's on here (I'm very guilty of this). I say do it!

I've always thought this looked pretty damn awesome:

btw, does anyone know the temperature thresholds for Plastidip?

^^^Tyler, you should go get a CL again...then change your name to CLtotheTL69.

Sean, just make sure whatever you do is easily and cheaply reversible. Plus, be choosy what you wrap...there's a fine line between artistic looking and looking like your car is a SUBWAY wrapped marketing vehicle.

Why 69?

It's 32 now because both the CL and the TL share the 3.2L V6.

DON'T get me thinking about a CL again

Thanks dude! Like I said before, unless it's something cheap like a lip spoiler, the car is pretty much done.

I can't afford, nor justify, anything expensive like wheels or coils at the moment.

you thinking like the entirety of the add on's? or just the black parts? i wasnt sure how it would look on the sides...def the front though and leave the black.

that red vert drifter, that car has me all about sticker bombing again.

oh i know. that's the hard part. i was thinking just get a sheet of vinyl and lay that over the pieces first, then sticker bomb and then either throw cheap clear on it or just use a protective clear film.

also, ty/j/john feel free to beat me to it lol.

I know you're on the fence about my engine covers. I wish they were more black and white than the brown wood color BUT beggars can't be choosers. They were free

If I were you I would start out with just the front lip. If you liked the look, do the full side pieces and the rear so it flows around the car.

Well I guess this is an update. I donated to the Acurazine Charity Drive back in 2010 and received two white Acurazine.com stickers. They were soon installed...

That wide angle-adapter shot is for you Sean

Anyways, I donated again this past year and received a black pair of stickers. I HATE stickers on my car and I felt like the white pair broke up the side of the car too much.

So yeah, the black ones are on the car now. They are VERY hard to see which is what I wanted. Subtle add-ons ftw...

Much better I think

And INB4 people comment about my tint on the rear window. Want to know what I think about it? Fuck it. I don't think it's a "disaster" like people make it out to be. Maybe one day I'll have it redone but as of right now it's at the bottom of my priority list.

It rained here last night and it looks like pollen season has begun ...

My roof had yellow spots all over it. I'm not sure how you NBP owners can deal with that shit

With 75+ degree temps the rest of the week, I got the sun shade out of the trunk...

All iPhone pictures btw; a little overexposed. My apologies.

For this thread being (somewhat) on topic!

Oh and like suggested by Aman last week, I cleaned my headlights after redoing the front grill and such. Not too much residue came off BUT there is a difference

And you can somewhat see the new black finish with the front lip. For you absent-minded fools, I painted the grey piece with Plasti-Dip.

and yes. i am not happy that salt season has turned to pollen season. i'm gonna wash today and then maybe it'll be clean for a week lol.

Doesn't look bad at all...
about the Pollen, this year has been worse than any other year...there was one day where it looked like I had gotten a leopard paintjob with the yellow on black...

Yeah I love the front lip. I didn't do the best job with it's execution but it's not terrible either. Ideally I would like it painted but I can't justify the cost.

Pollen ftl. It kills my sinuses and my car

Thanks dude!

I'm glad the black stickers don't show up. I want people to notice them when they get close to the car, not when the car is far away.

Gotta love Plasti-Dip.

That is a Covercraft UVS100 sun shade! It leaves about a 1" gap on either side BUT it's thick and has a silver side to help block UV rays. It runs a little less than $50 so it's not cheap but it's the best I've ever come across. I got mine from autoanything.com. Make sure you select you have a TL and such since they are not a generic size, they are fitted for our cars.

Thanks Jeremy!

Yeah the tint is somewhat nerve racking but I have more important things to worry about with my car. It's not worth the time or money to have it fixed.

Whoa

I like the idea of having one or two body pieces done but the whole car is a bit insane. Props for creativity though! I wonder how many Sharpies they went through

I think on that car it looks good but couldn't picture it on a luxury car. Kinda like if you see a teenage girl with pink hair... You might be like eh, kids will be kids. See a 45 yr old woman, I know I'd be like WTF?!? Lol. Gotta love my chick analogies
