Thanks jnc2000 .... Alright I have some great news just got of the of phone with tuner so I confirmed one thing if u look at graph you can tell there's no transition for vtec engagement .. That's because the vtec is controlled by Aem fic which Paul instructed us but after runnig late no remembered that ..... So long story short there's no vtec currently on with this tune ,tuner said at no charge on Tuesday he'll retune it for me at same psi with vtec on this time weeeeeeeeeehoooooooooooooo

I still feel in the final kit a FIC-8 should be used, the major difference between the FIC-6 and FIC-8 is that the 8 has IAT maonitoring and a 40PSI boost controller built in, with the boost controller built in boost control will be tied very close to the maps. Also since the FIC has dual maps built in that are selectable thru a simple toggle switch that can be mounted anywhere to select between them, this means a low boost map and setting can be made for daily driving and a second race map can then be made avalible a the flick of a switch and a restart of the car........

About a month ago I had mine tuned going from 6PSI, then 8 and 10. At 10 PSI I was at 426 WHP and 392 torque. It only lasted a week before the transmission gave out. It was driving fine and the only time the check engine would flash was when I get to 7300rpm.
The broken tranny is on it's way to be upgrade. I TRYING to UPGRADE it to a stage 10, but if it's not possible since just a bunch of people knows how to do the job and money is getting tight, I may just max it out at 8 PSI with somehow 350 to 360 WHP and a little bit less torque.
And just as mention in my earlier post of this tread, YES WE CAN

but seriously, do you think the tranny would have lasted with just 8 psi?

It really depends. I bet the newer TL 08 have a more durable tranny atleast i seem they do, but maybe b/c thier newer. We have to wait and see, but ya this thread is getting nice and hot

If I get some funds soon I'm gonna paypal you to make a harness for the fic8 if it's different from the current harness I have and go ahead and get it tuned on fic 8 .. That's what's r& d is about plus one less gage to worry about (boost controller)....... Paul let me know about harness please....

Wow, after looking at that website, isn't that the PTE Garrett GT "boosted" series dual ball bearing turbos? Badass!
Just a data point for you guys.... Our faster car made 518rwhp at 10psi. The TL is making 430ish at the same boost. We ended up hitting 800 and change at the wheels with some real boost. Anyone see what the TL is capable of with a turbo?
Hell, pound for pound of boost the TL would blow my GN away from a roll.

Would we have to upgrade anything else besides what the kit provides? Like a CAI, Exhaust system, Jpipe, pre-cats d, 3rd cats d, etc... I know it would be good to do these because of less heat and increase airflow, but thats like an extra 2-3k easily along with a 2-4k turbo. Hopefully this thing is cheap and affordable even though I won't be buying this until further R&D and members/makers have used it for a year with no problems. Will be waiting 1 1/2 years at least! Will this severely decrease MPG? Already have 17 city MPG, don't want anything that low!

If the trans failed due to slipping clutches there's definately something that can be done. If it's a hard part breakage, not much can be done unless someone starts making upgraded hardparts which isn't likely.
For the clutches, all we need is a way to rise line pressure. During normal use, line pressure rises according to throttle so you get the correct shift firmness and the clutches don't slip. The problem is that once you hit 0 vacuum which used to be wide open, the line pressure stops rising. Then you throw an additional 6-10psi boost on top with no line pressure rise.
I'll get on it tomorrow to see how we can create additional line pressure whether it's mechanical via a stiffer spring for the throttlevalve (or it's equivilent) or electronic via altering the signal to and from the computer.
Banelba, how did yours fail?

all the power is great, but how are we going to put it down? i never really looked under the car at the axels, but wouldn't we need to upgrade them? forgive me if im complete wrong lol.
my friend found this thing that attaches to the springs and wont let them compress. theory is, put them in the back and stop the car from leaping backwards. any ideas?

very. like $3200 for a VW 10 years ago. that's what manufacturers must do to get power to the ground evenly and with no tq steer, like on the new Ford Focus RS (right, Ford, but it's a pretty hot machine).
never read if we could put the 6 speed LSD on the auto's. probably still very expensive.

Wow, busy weekend around here. Great news from both of you guys; your hard work is paying off. This is all very interesting. Maybe I'll keep the TL in the long run...doubt it, but you never know.
Banelba - Nevermind my PM...I think I figured out what you were trying to link me to.

Yeah, the whine just wouldn't work for me. Now I'm seriously considering hanging on to the TL for the longer term. Maybe do the turbo and lower it a bit.
This car should trap at 110 mph. Any chance of getting some tires and taking it to the strip?

Geez man.. I think the fact that you broke the 400 barrier when people were barely breaking the 300 barrier is worth an applause.
