I think people see the blower for $4000-4500 and think "Oh I will just throw that baby on one weekend" I looked around for weeks for a shop I trusted my car to, and overpaid to have it done right.

Making a FI kit that adds 170 WHP to any car is going to be expensive and wanting to cheap out is counter productive. Getting a kit for 3k that blows your engine and you are out an engine and the down time if the car is your daily driver. Look at what a M3 cost to turbo.

I bought my car brand new so I guess I see $6k as a smaller % of the cars value. Those who paid 11K for the car see the price of the kit as more than half their cars value where I see it as more like one fifth.
Seems pretty true. I know I asked you specifically about the other expenses that would go into getting the TL S/C'd and it added up to more than the cost of this kit. Plus, everyone that has any experience with the CT kit says it's incomplete. The cost of this kit seems reasonable, I mean.. I remember those DRAG turbo kits for the 3rd Gen Integras back in the day went for about 4k, so this ain't out of the ordinary or anything. BTW, where you gonna get yours installed?

Look in the other thread and on their website.

For obvious reasons, they are not close up / detailed.

There's likely no physical difference, just turning the wastegate up. There may be a difference in the tuning though. I doubt it would cost much.

Is it ball bearing or journal bearing. What other turbos you can compare this with? or if some one can send me a link about the turbo that comes with the kit?

He was asking this in the other thread...

Got some good news for the type -s owners ,weve secured a loaner car from a member here on the site which we are more than thankful ,this been said we"re ready to install and test kit for the type-s ,unlike with base kit with numbers dropping from 31 to 3 we are forced to do type-s kits with upfront deposits ,but a minimum of five kits must be orderd...........................

Maybe just me being a noob but whats wrong with just producing a kit and who buys it buys it at the time they desire. If you want to offer a special group buy pricing or introductory pricing than thats sweet but no everyone has 5,800 laying around or even 500 for a deposit. But I guarantee when they see others having the kit they will consider it in a few weeks or months.

The overhead on even a few kits is a lot.. If this really picks up, I'm sure they'll be able to but I certainly wouldn't expect them to carry such a high overhead when they haven't secured the number of members needed for a discount purchase from the part mfg's.

Because they have a jig for the custom exhaust piping and it's much more cost efficient to build multiple sets at one time instead of setting it up for each one. I'm sure they have a deal with PTE to recieve some sort of discount for buying a certain number of turbos and intercoolers at one time too.

Maybe they can offer the kit on a one at a time basis for a little extra money.

Majofo & ihc have just put it all into terms, and making kit on a 1 order basis would cost a little more but if we get these kit going eventually we will be able to pick up overhead cost and keep kits in stock, and deposit is pretty reasonable to the cost of what we put out to get these kits made...

Since u brought up the subject , everyones who's on the list already got an update that we will be removing rev limiter & govern , especially since there's a valvvetrain kit available for our motors , so if that's what holding the type-s guys back just to let you know they will be removed , that's an issue I've addressed myself , once we start production there will be updates and videos...And that's a guarantee from jandr ..

Nice Rodney and John.. the TLS kit on the way? That "should" stir things up again. I'm kinda sad though. I was hoping to womp on some Type-S's before the kit could be developed for them... Now they'll be on FI too... ho hum... lol. Nonetheless the Type-S kit is great news!
