KN_TL's Rebuild/Turbo Install thread
#441
After 10 years, I'm going to move on and hand the keys over to my son.
Planning on removing the turbo and potentially replacing the engine so you may see items from me in the marketplace. The current engine is showing some signs of blowby so my rings may have not seated after 5K of driving. If I do this, I will have Pauter rods, KMS valve springs, etc to let go.
Also have a spare 6mt that has a bad whine and a second sets of gears/lsd with a lot of new parts (bearings, syncros, etc) that I will be selling.
If it will only warm up.......

damn man im sorry to hear after all this time and effort things just didn't work out. i read through your whole thread and felt as if i was reliving my own first engine build (that i did twice). i had all the same problems as you. question about the blowby, what are you seeing exactly? is your catch can picking up oil or are you just burning it? under what conditions? what type and weight oil did you end up running? ive gone to the ends of the internet with research for my own problem and its a nightmare haha. After all this i give you a ton of respect for keeping the faith after most people would have packed up and gone home. its a testament to your character and a great quality most people these days dont have. Bravo.

Thank you. I only see some smoke in the valve cover, oil in the can is minimal. I am going to try a little heavier oil to see if it helps. I don't regret doing all this work, learned a ton.
The main reason for moving on is the torque steer of the fwd. I am still deciding on what to do but I am definitely going with something with RWD.
