K & N Typhoon Air Intake

According to K & N I should get an extra 10 HP from Typhoon Air Intake for my 08 TL Type-S Auto. Does that sound right. I'm able to buy item with install for $265. Is it worth it. Is there any cutting, grinding or cutom fitting for the install on this Air Intake. Does anyone have (install pix or) pix of unit in car.

Search is all I gotta say.

This has been discussed a bazillion times.

It will not gain 10HP. More so 3-5 HP.

Cheap with install.

No.

Search.

You can get 90% of the results by ripping out the stock air box and putting a cone filter on the stock intake tube. Sure won't look pretty though.

don't listen to those HP numbers that you see advertised with all cold air intakes. they are all bull shit and false advertisement.

if i were you, i would get a dc sports cold air intake. its about half the price of the typhoon air intake ($130 +shipping) and it's pretty much 99.9% the same, just a different brand.

Please don't waste your money on a CAI. If you want more power get a j-pipe. If you want more sound, all you have to do is remove your intake resonator. CAI will also make you more vulnerable to hydro-locking if streets flood.

I have the K&N intake and I hate it. It's stupid loud and always whistling and drawing unwanted attention.

Save your pennies and get a j-pipe instead

Intake wont give you 10hp; just an easier throttle response. I wouldnt worry about hydro-locking unless you submerge under water like 2-3 feet.

I have a AEM CAI and love it. I got the mesh water proofing cover though. its only about 20 on amazon i think. So water in intake isnt really a problem
