In FedEx possession

Look what daddy just got.......
The gaskets are wrapped inside the middle Styrofoam piece. Don't forget that and throw it away on accident!!

Just tested it out on a stock base TL with only the J-Pipe. So far it feels like it was still able to gain a good amount of torque especially around 3-3.5k!

saturday delivery date, with a planned isntall/dyno on the same day

problem is though, its supposed to rain this weekend, which means higher humidity, which means lower #s

i may sound crazy, but if its raining/humid out, i'll wait for the install/dyno for a cool, crisp dry day.... my last set of #'s were in my favor because it was like 30 degrees out with almost NO humidy in the air

btw, last set of #'s 261whp (3rd Gear) 239wtq (4th gear)

FedEx says Friday delivery

Are there any gotchas with DIYing this? Assuming it's doable with jack stands. Are there studs where the pre-cats connect to the J-pipe or just bolts?

It's DIY-able, but the only thing that is a PITA if you don't have any decent sockets/swivels + breaker bars are the bolts that attach the pipe to the cat.

My suggestion would be soaking up all the bolts with WD-40 or PB Blaster a day prior so it will help a bit.

just standard botls... you souldn't run into any surprises unless you've had alot of snow and rain throughout the ownership of ur car which will cause the bolts to be on there pretty tight... if you have an impact gun then u are set... pretty straight forward install 15-30mins tops

The construstion looks top notch...and i believe mike is using a 400 class stainless, so you should be safe in that regards when it comes to corrosion. Less nickel content than the traditional 304 SS, but I believe 400 class steel performs very much like 304 and is cheaper??? I shoulda paid more attn in my materials class

Any cons might be limited to sound i think and loss of back pressure(?) (if you want the new headers Mike is coming out with, I dont know wat kind of ramifications all the exhaust options - catback sys, j pipe, 3rd cat delete, headers - might pose when you consider it as one big totality in regards to back pressure...just doesnt seem like you can increase power by doing alll of them, unless youre boosted )....

Personallly, Im waiting to read people's reviews before I jump on this and see how they like the sound, any descriptions they can provide in regards to hp increases via the good ole butt dyno , etc.

I hear excelerate is coming out with one via B&B???

Well just installed my atlp j-pipe today on my 04 AT. I currently have the Greddy Exhaust, AEM Intake, UR Pulley as far as performance upgrades and by far this is the best. Throttle response has improved greatly. While pulling onto the interstate I felt a huge boost through the middle of the powerband. My wheels broke loose around 50mph, they've never done that before, I was using the SS. I feel that most people are going to love this upgrade.

As far as sound, I didn't notice any louder noise.......read on. I also installed an Aero 25 resonator on my Greddy Exhaust when I got the j-pipe put in. Man I'm happy I got around to doing this! The resonator has taken away 75% of the cabin drone, while maintaining the great sound when you give it the gas/start-up.

Definately big props to Mike for putting such a great product out for us! I don't have any pics, as I had my shop pick it up and drop it back to my work.

Hey Aaznbo187, All 60 on the first batch are all paid in full correct? I'm guessing you wouldn't be shipping if they weren't? Or are you shipping as people are paying?

I just didn't want to get my hopes up, I should of jumped on it sooner but I wanted to get an exhaust on first.

But it looks like you were able to get some gains, stock, are you going to do a dyno on the stock car?

Hey,

Yeah, they are all paid for...we're just shipping them out as they are being finished.

Just add yourself to the 2nd batch list. It will be there sooner than you know (1-month). In the meantime you can get your exhaust.

Got a nice little surprise yeaterday;
Came home and there was a j-pipe sitting in my living room!!! I previously requested that I would pick this thing up when they were ready, but having it magically show up at home was worth the shipping since I didn't have to drive all the way to Irvine!!! Thanks a lot MIke! You hauled ass on this one, bro! Can't wait to throw this b!tch on!! hahaha

So the second batch will possibly ship mid-May? How many spots left? Any info on a test pipe yet?

Yeah it's looking like mid-end of May. We still have open spots left.
As far as the test pipe, I should be getting both the high flow cat and test pipe by early next week so I can take a few pictures.

so all 60 for the first batch have been sent?
No, only the first 20. The remainder will be sent out by the end of next week.

Roger that.....well the list fell off somewhere after 50. Do you have an updated one for the 2nd batch...?...I just paid yesterday....so not sure where that puts me on the list. You still going with 20 per batch, correct?

Had the shop make a straight pipe to replace the Greddy so if I sell the Greddy at some time it can be stock

Me too but it looks like I will take it to be dynoed after some driving. I have to make my intake as well.

Final dyno? Surely you are not done.

I am done adding horses now I have to find a way to hook it up!

Installed it this evening on my 06 AT. Build quality is excellent. You can definitely feel the extra power when rpms get up to 3K.

My other engine mods are stock size UR pulley, P2R TB spacer and Magnaflow exhaust. I've got a 4"x22" resonator and 4"x9"x14" mufflers using the stock piping.

As an added bonus, I swear the J-pipe has dramatically reduced exhaust drone. Mine was mainly noticeable when slowly accelerating or going uphill at around 2K rpms. Now I barely notice it except on really steep hills.
