Replaced battery, now Navi asks for PIN?

Hi - I just put a new Costco battery into my 04TL. After the Navi system booted up, it is now prompting me for a 4-digit PIN number. I can't use the radio, Navi, or anyhting else on the audio system right now.

Where can I find the 4-digit PIN number at?

Thanks!

If you don't have it with your manual you can call the dealer you bought the car from...

Found it!

There was a card stuffed away in a drawer that I hadn't seen since I bought the car.

Found the Navi & Radio codes on it.

Cheers!

^^ I don't think thats the same PIN.

I *think* you can add a PIN when you set up certain personal stuff (like home address) in the Navi.

I guess that's so if your car is stolen, for example, the thief can't get directions to your house.

I'm not certain on this; I could be dead wrong.

The security code is when you disable the battery- as if someone had stolen the radio
register at www.acura.com and you can store the codes there for free

The Personal Pin is for the address book so you can keep seperate drivers for biz, and personal stuff seperate- an unused feature for the most part

Very handy tool

Kastar Hand Tools makes a very handy little tool called a Computer Memory Saver, part number 295A. It is a cigarette lighter plug with a typical 9 volt battery snap the end. Before changing the battery in a late model car, snap a 9 volt battery onto the tool and put it in the car's power outlet. Then change the car's battery. The 9 volts from the tool's battery retains the memories in the radio so you do not have to enter the code or reset the station presets. I bought mine at the Toolwarehouse.com for less than $10 or you could make one from Radio Shack parts.

Or do like the rest of us and write it on the side of the glovebox door and on your free www.acura.com account for your car- it has a storage place for your codes
