CRAP!!!!
I just got a call from XM customer service rep telling me that I don't qualify for $60 yr contract. its been a month. WTF???? They said that they were investigating the reason for such high turn out on the $60 promo. After reviewing the XM code, they have concluded that Acura owners do not qualify for this promo. I was given either to pay for the upgrade cost, or money back.
Anyone got this call? WTF????

I'll try again, and maybe I'll get someone who doesn't know.

Still I'm worried it won't stick at this $60 price so I'll be checking my credit card purchases online just to see.

I haven't gotten a call and actually had the deal activated today which would begin on July 1, 2005 and end on July 1st of 2006. I hope that no one else gets this call.
Did you bitch at all? That's kind of crap that you already paid for something and now that they are changing it on you.
XM wouldn't charge you though till the renewing process starts. They said to look for the charge on my July Statement.

If this is true and more and more members are given a denial to this deal, this thread would be terminated.

OK. Before this gets out of hand, I should just apologize for this April fools joke.

I just called to get in on the $60/yr. deal. I gave the "secret" code and was told the new rate for this promotion was $77/yr. because of the April 2nd rate increase. So my total with tax would have been $83.35. I talked the guy into giving me a $17 credit but had to pay tax, bringing my total to $66.35. Still beats the hell out of $142 for another year.

I got through today and was quoted $140 something, but she immediately offered to grandfather me at $119. I gave her the code and was put on hold for about 5 mins and she came back and said that $60 promo was expired due to the rate increase, but I could have it for $77.00.
$60 would have been nice, but $77 is still better than $140 or even $119.

Same here. Called today and received the $77/year pricing. Can't grumble about missing the $60 plan as my trial period, for some reason, lasted one year.
I like the sat radio for content but doubt I'll fork out the $12/month (or higher) come 2006.

AUDIO CD....JAM....Grrr
1000 miles and already a problem, yesterday like any other day for as long as I can remember, I was listening to my CD's and when the CD was over it ejected automatically and the other 5 are stuck inside.... ....
So today I called the dealer which asks me if these are store bought or burnt?...I say both and he says that this could be the reason since they're of different thickness... , maybe if you do the relabeling which I don't, and these are the same CD's I have been playing in all my other vehicles including my wife's Ody....
Oh well I have an appointment for Friday and see what happens..( I knew that Bose makes a better system and that's why I miss the RSX-S, my previous ride... )

I got mine for the $77. Took two calls though. First guy wouldn't do it so I asked for his supervisor and told them I was given the code. He told me that nobody but XM should be giving out that code and didn't do it. So I hung up and called back and the woman on the line was nice as could be and hooked me right up.

I got denied the first time saying that the promotion is no longer available.
Called back again, told her "I want the $77 winback promo." No problems and got the deal. Too bad i missed the $60 deal, procrastination is a killer.

Yeah call, they are friendly as they want your business so its really easy.
Just tell them your friend got the $60 promotion and you want the same thing and they will tell you its now $77. Drop the secret code and its yours no questions asked.

I had to call three times but I finally got the $77 deal. I tried (800) 682-4114 the first two times and they wouldn't do it. The third time I called (800) 347-0600 and the guy had no problem. didn't have to use WINBACK.

Just called 800-347-0600. The guy said they no longer honor the WINBACK. The best he could do he said was give me 3 or 6 months for that price. I told him that a friend of mine just got the full 12-month deal. He goes "Really?...let me check if I can do that. <5 secs of silence> OK. Yeah...I can do that."
So, I guess the customer reps have been coached to play hard to get but at the end of the day XM needs to increase their subscriber base and that works in our favor.

....and he just made me feel like an idiot.
i HAD the 2 year promo for 215. that's cheaper than doing 77 for the first year and then 155 for the second year after the price increase. i just stuck with what i had.

True. $215 for 2 yrs should be a good deal. Especially, since it's prolly going to be something like $15/month by some time next year. Anyways, I'm starting to get into the XM thing. But I actually like the online interface better. I wish in my car I had a way to preview the currently played song(s) before switching channels. For example, if I said "XM channel ABC" it could tell me the name of the currently playing song/artist and I'd say 'yes' only if I wanted to switch. But I guess that's off-topic.

No Code Needed.
I called the number from Channel 1 this morning.
I told Tersea the Acura dealer told me I could renew for $60.
She put me on hold. Came back and told me it's now $77. Done. Bill me.
