I just tried (7PM). No dice with the "Listener Care Rep." Rep said this is a retension program, so it has to expire before I can use that PROMO. He said his computer would not allow him to do it. He was a robot.
My trial will end 3/31. I will try again tomorrow morning, when the same rep should not be on duty.

Tried it again today(9:45am), after failing last night. This time, there was vitually no wait. "Listener Care rep" was extremely friendly and signed me up for the $60/year offer without any extra questions. Done in less than 5 minutes. This is the way it should be....Thanks XM.

Worked on the first try! My free service stopped about a month ago. Called 1-800-682-4114, told them my free service was up and that I had a promo code for $60/yr. Gave him my radio code and will have service in 15 min.

XM Service for $60.00

I just called Xm at the 800 number provided.
They answered their phones in about 3 mins. I told them that my dealer mentioned to me that they have a $60.00 for one year promotion. He said "Oh, Okay. No problem we can sign you up for that." He asked me my Radio ID, I gave him my Credit Card and boom I am signed up until May 2006 in about 5 mins.

Just got my deal for $60 -- When I called the rep asked me to hold while she checked with her supervisor... after 4 mins she came back on the phone saying that she couldn't offer this because its valid only when they contact me directly or they send in a letter. I said the dealer told me that this offer is definitely good - so she put me on hold again... came back in two minutes and said "my supervisor is really busy -- so I'm just going to give it to you... I'm sure your dealer was legit otherwise you wouldn't know about this offer"

Okey Dokey - no taxes nadda!

I think if everyone who is about to lose their service and won't renew for a ridiculous price could do without XM for a month or two, they will be calling you and begging you to come back and you could probably get $60 per year without an argument. Just my .02.

I told my wife that I can deal with XM or any satellite radio for $60 a year. Anything more IMHO is a waste of money... Satellite radio will be even less of a value to me if someone can figure out a way to integrate an iPod into our vehicles.

that was easy

My XM was up on 3/31.

Called in on Sunday - on my first try I only said that "I was told of the $60/year offer" and that I wanted to go with that option (she brought up several others that are based on the new increased pricing).

I said thanks, but I would prefer to go with that $60 option. She was very friendly and asked for my radio code. I gave it, she said "OK" and signed me up. Done.

Thanks everyone. I've been looking forward to making this post.

Do ya think XM knows that we know that they know that we know that... about this $60 deal?

everybody check your credit/bank statements. Just noticed XM charged me $79 instead of $60 for the $60 special. I called today and they were like "okay will give you the rest back". I knew they sounded shady on the phone the first time. Check your bills!

Beware!

I CALLED AND GOT THE DEAL TOO - - My cust serv rep warned me that they are auditing the accounts and canceling any that are not "saved" accounts. For instance, im still within my 3 month free period and she said they might kill my offer since they are not trying to save my service! I hope this doesnt pan out to be true!!!!

Exclamation Winback Offer Good For Other Radios Too!

I picked up my new '05 TL with Navi on Thursday night, abd just called XM and got the special "winback" $60.00 rate. I then asked if I could use this same promo code for an XM tuner I have in my house... And the answer was Yes!!

So, the "winback" code is good for cars and other XM tuners as well.

This is for those that have first year for $60 and signed up for 2nd year after that at 9.99....

I just got off phone with an XM sup regarding something diffrent and before I got off asked to verify my account and all... They said I had first year $60+tax and second year new price + tax and I would get an inv for like $16... I asked why? I had already paid everything total. He stated rep who set me up must have not understood how the system works... He said My credit would have been used but it was not enough... He said its not possible for them to add another year for 9.99 if you have 60 promo because you can only have one item and it would state the years like a 2 year pack 3 year pack ect.. and it shows as 1 year 60 and then another one year... He just removed everything from my account and set me up on a 2 year pack and credited the diff so i didnt have to pay anything...

Hope you all can understand it..

Anyway basicly if you have first year at 60 and prepaid for your 2nd year it wont work, you will end up paying the new price still as it wont use the money until first year is up and at that point it will go by current rates becauses it does not see a price or anything, just sees your on a 1 year plan after your promo plan is up... So if you paid for first year and got talked into a 2nd year and they claim at 9.99 you need to call to have corrected... Most of you didnt because the reps told you that you cant and they are right because it does this... My rep originaly told me I could so I got away with it but anyone else who did also you will have to get it corrected or you WILL get an invoice when your 2nd year starts showing you owe.

UG!! that was long... Just wanted to share what I found out though... Im so glad I asked if my account was good for 2 years, he first said yea and then asked why i only paid what I did and thats how that got started... But they had called me because of another account that I had unauthorized charges on they where refunding me for...

Got It

My XM expired months ago, when I first called back then I got 3 months for $5.95 a month. After the 3 months I started receiving monthly bills for the normal rate. When I called and question the billing I was told that the promo given me a that time was a 1 year plan with the first 3 months discounted. So I split the bills (2 months worth) with XM and canceled. Then today, 4 months later a buddy sent me the link to this site and below is the post that I acted on. XM built me a new account and jumped me right back into the system all for $60.00 bucks. Thanks my budd "MTC" and this thread.

" Just called and got the $60 for 1 yr deal. Explained my 90 trial ended and
was advised at time of vehicle purchase to call 1-800-929-2100 and give the
XM rep promo code ZWINBACK MYP1. Did it and worked like a charm...WELCOME
BACK XM-150!!!"

This is a great site and I've learned a lot by reading it.

BigB2k5: I think I understand what you're saying but I'm still not sure what you ended up paying. I purchased my TL at the end of Februrary. I was going to call the 800# Monday and ask for the "winback" or $60 for a year program plus I was going to ask for the pre-April 1st one year plan at $119.88. That would take me through about June 2007 at about $7.50 per month avg.

Are you saying I need to ask for the 2 year pack and then ask for credit on that plan because of the WINBACK program? $60 + $120 = $180. The special pre-April 1st plan is $215 for 2 years. $215- $180= $35. So are you saying XM will let me sign up for a 2 year plan for $180? Thanks. This is a very valuable site.

I thought I would give an update. I called the 800# and got the winback promo...$60 for a year promo price. It was very easy and took less than 5 minutes including hold time. I'm signed up through May 06. Great stuff thanks to this site.

However, I asked about extending the service through May 07 at the special pre-April price of $9.99 p/m ( lump sum $120). She asked her supervisor and the sup told her 2 promos could not be combined. I suggested signing me up for the 2 year plan for $180 using the $60 + $120= $180 logic. She asked her superviser and he again said it's not possible to combine 2 promotions.

I'm beginning to think BigB2k5 is correct and those who used the winback promo and in addition signed up for another year at 9.99 may...in the future... get a bill for the difference between $12.99 and $9.99 since the computer doesn't see a promotion code for the second additonal year.

Of course, if a supervisor was able to over-ride the rule against taking advantage of double promotions by using 2 special codes then you may be okay.

Unhappy Tried the $60 promo on unexpired 90-day, no go!

Perhaps I got a rep who is too smart or well-informed. He cited a March 11th letter telling reps that the WINBACK promo cannot be used for those still active on the 90-day trial. :-(

I'll try again, and maybe I'll get someone who doesn't know.

Yea, thats about what I meant... But the girl I talked to signed me up for it and told me I was good and when I was talking to the manager about another problem before we got off phone he was like "anything else?" I said yea can you make sure I am good on my act for 2 years I dont have to pay anything else... Thats when the prob happened. First year yea 60+tax, 2nd year she told me 9.99/m + tax but turns out it woulda actually billed me 12.99/m+tax... You have the right concept.. Because she put note on my account of what she tried to do he said it wouldnt work but cuz I already paid he would remove it all, put me on 2year and refund diffrence so i didnt have to pay anything...

So basicly only way to use this and lock in 2nd year is if you get someone to screw up and put it on your account wrong, then call in and make them fix it... lol

You will receive a letter from XM Radio in about 3 weeks. Your XM Radio ID# will be on the upper right side. However, Acura should already have sent XM your information. Give XM a few days to process it and I believe you should be able to use the TL VIN# to obtain the Winback deal.

Thumbs up It worked for me too!

I called XM this morning and got the $60/year deal too! I had already submitted payment of $119.88/year about 2 weeks ago. But I also asked if there was any possibility that I may extend the $60/year for 2 years since I had already paid nearly that amount anyway. He said he wasn't sure if they could do that, but that the Billing Department would contact me about it. But I am good to go with the 1st year for $60. If nothing else, I've saved half of what I thought this service would cost for 1 year. This is great!

Thanks for the information! That's why these owner's sites are so great. I've been involved in an "owner's website" since 1999 (first for my Expedition and then for my Toyota Tacoma) and I'm already loving this site and my new 05 TL!

Worked for me too!

I got my car just over 90 days ago, so my radio died 2 days ago. I was actually listening to it when it died, it just faded out and said "Updating", then all I could get was the preview channels. Anyway, I just called 1.800.929.2100 and it went right to a person, no waiting, no menus. He took my receiver ID and asked how long I wanted to sign up for, I told him I had a code from the dealer for 1 yr @$60. He typed for a few moments and said it would be something like $120. I told him (again) that my code said it was $60. He asked for the code, I gave him the "ZWINBACK MYP1" code. He typed for a few more moments, then said "Allright, it'll be $60 even." and so I gave him my credit card # and we were done. I was kind of expecting more of a hassle, I'm glad it went so well.

I called 1.800.929.2100, a nice lady asked for my radio ID and asked How she could help me. I told her: "My 90 day trial has just expired and I would like to renew my membership. My dealer told me I could renew for $60 a year." No questions asked, she typed for a few moments and asked how I would like to pay.

Glad it was so smooth.

Talking Got it! Thanks!!

We purchased our 05 TL last week, and received an e-mail 5 days later announcing the April 2 price increase. So, following you wonderful, helpful people through this thread, I called the 1-800-929-2100 number, gave her the ZWINBACK MYP-1 secret code and secured 12 months @ $60. So we're set until June 2006.

We wouldn't've known about the promotion without the Acurazine folks, so thanks for sharing. I wouldn't say we're enjoying the website more than the car, but each is spectacular for what it is!!

Good luck to all!

I just got the $60 deal too!

Great! Thanks to all of your help, I just got the $60 deal as well. My trial period ends June 21, so the 1-year for $60 will kick in after that. My total, including taxes, will be $68.81, but they said this will not appear on my credit card (Amex) until after my trial period ends. I was reluctant to pay the new higher fees, since I don't drive many miles, but I sure am getting hooked on XM in the last 10 days since I bought my car. For $68, we can't lose! Thanks gang!

You must live in Florida, I think the only people I've seen mention paying tax were all from there...

Doh!

My first try with ZWINBACK MYP1 got the response that the dealer has to do the activation and they can't help me.

I'll try again, but I would imagine their call center would keep track of my calls...

Well, the 800-929-2100 number didn't work. I was successful with the 800-682-4114 and "I have an Acura and the 90 day trial expired. I'd like the $60 for a year promotion." The guy didn't ask for a promo code or ask about the dealer.

Thanks everyone

Well, I kind of got the deal and I kind of didn't...

I got some pushback from XM (even using the promo code) because of when the dealership turned on the trial period. The lady told me that I couldn't get the $60/yr promo until I've owned the vehicle for 5 months and that's based on the date that the dealership calls in to activate the XM trial service. I debated with her for a while because of the information I was told when I called in a few months back (the jist of that conversation was to wait till the end of my trial period and then I would get the deal).

Needless to say, I'm getting the $60/yr deal starting June 4 (my trial ends Apr 4 and I'll qualify because I've owned the vehicle for 5 months), I'm getting from Apr 4 to May 3 free because of the wrong information given to me the last time I called, and have to pay the $12.95 for service from May 4 to Jun 3. I look at it as if I were getting two months at approx $6.50/month, then I'm getting the $60/yr deal.

As always, I got her name and she told me that my account was updated with the information that we talked about. So I kind of got screwed, but I really made out in the end since I'm really getting a 14 month deal on the service.

It'll just take one more phone call at the end of May to make sure nothing else changes and the $60 deal kicks in.

Yup, I'm in Delray Beach, Florida. I don't know why we're the only state paying an extra fee. The XM rep on the phone needed to find what county I was in (Palm Beach) and then determined what my added fees were. The extra $8.81 is something like 14.7%, so it must be a combo of state tax, and local tax. I'm not complaining though....since it is still a good deal compared to the new higher XM rates. I'll call XM again at the end of June just to be sure that my deal is on the file.

The reason why your paying state taxes is because XM is based in Florida. Pretty much all interstate commerce (ie internet, mail order catelogues), state tax is only collected if the company selling has a physical locatoin there.
Thats why you pay state tax on something bought at bestbuy.com but probably don't from dell.com (unless u live in texas)

Also...
If you get a xm rep who isn't playing ball, hang up and try again with someone else. It seems like each rep has their own set of rules in regards to promos.
