I could make a few calls, but without the schematics nothing can happen. As for the test harness...maybe someone can reverse engineer these to determine the schematics?
Hey playa4real don't you have one of the test harness i believe there is about 3-4 out there, why cant you guys reverse engineer them and share the wiring schematics with the rest of us, cant be to difficult

Been monitoring this board for awhile, anxiously awaiting the new Harness. There are a ton of folks who would buy this who are silent, and I personally, would be willing to pay a premium to get everything working. You could provide an option for the two harnesses, one option for those who don't need Nav Traffic, and another option, for say $200+ that supports it to subsidize the cost of the harness. Just a thought.
Adding me to the list for the new Harness for the 2007-2008 TL Type-S

Thanks. Hopefully they'll get it all figured out soon.

Thats the thing.... we cant just make 200 of them its a minimum of 2000 and were not sure if the demand is high enough to sell all 2000 as we dont wish to sit on product if its not selling. Those of you who work for a manufacturer know that demand is everything.
Like the post above says, its not written in stone that this harness will not come to market. we are still trying to negotiate with the vendor.

Wouldn't it make sense to develop a hybrid module that would work for both NavTraffic equipped and not NavTraffic equiped vehicles?

Tony, I don't know if you are still checking this thread but I emailed you this weekend about the fact that the firmware you sent me to fix the flashing ipod connected/not connected issue did not fix the problem. What exactly did you guys figure out was causing this? Could it be some setting on my iPod or the type of iPod I have that is still causing this to happen?

Like Type-S-Rocks and the folks before us said, we are silent, we are watching AND we want this harness!

Could have an alternative solution
Looks like we might not have to worry about Peripheral getting their act together with a harness that supports Nav Traffic as it appears folks at USASpec are making promises on it's new model coming out this month.

Peripheral better jump on it, or guess were a lot of people are going to.. either that or just release the wiring info. Im sure a lot of people are willing to buy the specs on the harness layout and piece their own. I already have some connectors coming hopefully there the same. After that i will make my own.

Sorry guys im a noob but i have a 2004 TL with NAV and just want to be able to connect my iphone so i can charge it and play music that is better quality than the crappy cassette adapter.

*** !! Attention !! ***
Guys and Gals,
It's official, The PGHHD2 harness is comming to market. This harness is only for vehicle equipped with NAV Traffic! This harness should hit our doors in mid June and be available no later the July 1.
The ipod cable is still a toss up, not sure if we will have them by then but you can always buy two and make one long one.
Enjoy

Is there any more work being done on the new firmware? I installed the .51 firmware you sent me several months ago and it has not fixed the problems with the hard drive based iPod Classics. In fact, I think it has made the issue worse and since that firmware hasn't made it to the update site, I'm assuming you guys know it is not ready.
With that firmware, if you plug the iPod into the cable before turning the car on it seems to work pretty flawlessly. If you wait to plug in the iPod after turning on the car it takes up to 30 seconds to start playing and that is if it actually works. About 50% of the time it freezes the iPod and I have to reset it. I don't have these issues with my iPhone 3G. Can you provide some information on when these issues might get fixed?

I appreciate that you guys are still working on this. The OEM system in the '09s and other aftermarket headunits can play the hard drive based models just fine so I know there is a solution out there.

Question for Peripheral
I installed the iSimple with no problems and I love it, but I have one question. If I turn my radio off via the power button before I turn my car off, when I start it back up it takes a few minutes before the XM or Ipod will work. When I hit the XM button, nothing happens. FM, AM and CD all work fine. I have learned that several other people have this problem and just don't turn their radio off. But now it is starting to happen randomly and the power button doesn't even work. This afternoon I started my car and I couldn't get XM or my Ipod to work for over 15 minutes. I'm running firmware .36. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello,
Thank you everyone for your great posts! I was able to install the pxamg into my 2008 TL non-nav with no problem thanks to all your tips!
I have a question though for anyone that bought the hdrt and has it installed...is it possible for me to install the hdrt without taking the entire radio unit out? Like I was able to for the pxamg by just removing driver side panel and trim? I bought the unit but couldn't figure out how to get the antenna without taking out the entire unit. Also, where is the antenna located? Or can I purchase a separate antenna to mount somewhere in my car and run to the hdrt? I'd really like to be able to use the HDRT but not take out the radio since I'm not that advances and am really cheap =)
And LAST....does everyone have to hold down the steering wheel control for 2 seconds and hear a beep before it'll change to next song? I'm finding this very annoying since when I use to use just AUX I can press the button once quickly and it'll go onto the next song without any annoying beep...I really want to be able to change tracks faster and quieter but not reach over to the tune knob.
Again, thank you for all your help!

Here is the deal, I'm testing the unit before I run the ipod cable to the center console. Now the car can see the ipod and track info but I'm getting really low sound, so low that I have to rise the volume to the max and still cant really hear the music. Here is what I’ve done so far
1. installed the latest firmware
2. soft booted the ipod(video 5thGen)
3. used another ipod
4. disconnected the 20 pin connecter from the unit for 5min
5. disconnected the unit from the XM unit in the trunk
6. turn the car off like 20 times
7. checked to make sure the ipod cable was connected in the port furthest from the dip switch.
8. have all the dip switches in the off position
I picked this unit up at bestbuy.com, and I just don’t know what else to try, I think installing my rear view Camera was quicker then this for me. thanks for the help.
